Between myself, my girlfriend, and my family, we've purchased 3 of Don's Groupon "mile-high" glider flight deals, and all 3 have been the same incredible experience. It doesn't matter if you are comfortable or experienced with flight, Don always makes you feel very comfortable and he will give you some simple directions and what to expect before taking off.During the mile-high flight, you have time to take the controls yourself while flying over the Rice County lake region. In mid-July 2014, we drove 40 miles south of Minneapolis to Faribault to ride a glider at Cross Country Soaring and it was an awesome experience. Gliding over the lakes, green farms, and small towns with the only noise being our motor-less craft rushing through the air. Our host and pilot was Don Ingraham who was a very interesting guy. He used to soar competitively and had lots of ‘winner’ certificates on his office wall. And I was amazed at how busy he is. It takes about a month to get a ride. During my ride, I asked him how many hours a year he spends in the back seat of the glider. He said he never computed it up and added that he does seven half-hour flights a day, six days a week so you can do the math. If you ever get the chance, soar in a glider.
