faribault woolen mill

This is a wonderful, founded in 1865 Woolen Mill in Faribault, Mn on a Mill Pond. It's a few miles off the freeway, but google the address. It IS WORTH the DRIVE !!! The Mill had closed and was bought and brought back to life. There's a Tour available, but we were on a schedule and this was an unplanned side trip. Plus, their items are SO BEAUTIFUL, it took me forever to choose what beautiful items I was taking home to Michigan. I'm normally a walk in a shop, look around, make my choices and am out the door in 10 minutes. or less. Not here! There are beautiful throws, blankets, scarves, etc. Some are recycled woolen items. There is an area of items that are marked down as they have misweaves. Look hard as they're difficult to find. There are even blankets woven for all the Armed Services. I'm not a scratchy wool person at all. These are so soft, it's difficult to not touch everything in the shop. I 'm not sure, if they have an online catalogue. I wouldn't be surprised. They even ship items. A fellow was there having items shipped to Sweden while we were there. This Mill provided many of the blankets used by the Army in WWII. Your family may still have one. This is a wonderful continuation of a Mill started in 1865. The shop and apparent office areas are very modern and fitting the Mill. Just imagine all the people who have worked there and worn or used their woolens. Why don't you stop and be part of the wonderful history of our Country?
