hibbing historical society museum

A hidden gem a little out of the way place and a treasure of info, lots of history and a huge amount of photos and such

We had an opportunity to tour this small, excellent museum that covers the history of life in the early 20th century in Hibbing, MN. Did you know the town was actually physically moved several time in the early 1900s as the ore mining activities in the area forced its move? Neither did we. There are dioramas of the town at various times, displays of tools used in the lumber and mining industry and artifacts of daily life in Hibbing. It is well done and worth a visit if you are in the area.
