The North Beltrami Heritage Center in Kelliher, Minnesota is a charming and interesting collection of historical items and artifacts that chronicle life in this area of Minnesota over the last 100 to 150 years. I found the setting itself interesting: the old town auditorium/gymnasium where, in years past, the local high school team played their home basketball games. It must have been cozy, since there's barely room for a court let alone room for more than a few spectators. . . I'm guessing fire marshals were a bit more lenient 'back when'.In any case, the collection contains 'everyday' items from depression-era life, to women's lib in the 1970's, to the Centennial Celebration of the Saum School, to old farm tools, hunting and fishing pictures and equipment, old church organs and other musical instruments, photos and books and clothing from days of old. Nothing spectacular, but all intriguing and well worth a nostalgic hour or two of your time if you happen to find yourself in the beautiful north woods of Minnesota.
