Forestedge is so much fun to visit and taste wine samples! I know you can take a tour, each time I have come though they have been so busy that we haven't been able to get in on the tour- so we just stay in the lodge area and taste samples and the wines are delicious! They are all fruit wines, no grapes, as others have mentioned. My favorites are the White Cranberry, Red Current, Rhubarb, and Blueberry! The owners/staff are so friendly and fun to talk with, you can tell they truly like their customers and are having a good time themselves. The wine is price ranged $10-15 a bottle and we always pick up a few bottles for ourselves and some for gifts, everyone who has recieved a bottle loves the wine, too! The grounds are beautiful and there is a small art/craft room where they sell things and are neat to look at. Located about 5-7miles out of Laporte, MN and if you go through Laporte- highly recommend stopping at the grocery store and getting yourself one of the best burgers I've ever had! Sounds crazy, I know...but their meat is the BEST!

This is a do not miss destination. We were surprised to find a winery in this part of the country and even more surprised to find out that they don't make the wine from grapes. The wine is made from local fruit here. Our first sample was their rhubarb wine and it is fantastic! They have many different kinds (15-20?) and all the ones we tasted were very good, making a difficult choice on what to purchase! In the tasting area is also a small gift shop with some unique and fun wine-related items. The owners assist with the tasting and are very knowledgeable and interesting to talk with. We will definitely be back the next time we go through the area.

I went with my mom and friends - it is a very nice place. I do not like wine - but they let me try most of the samples anyways - just to see if I could find one that I liked. Very friendly place and beautiful.

I come here every summer. They have about 15 fruit wines, none of them have any grapes in them. My husband and I always come home with 2-3 cases of wine from them in order to last use until we come back the following year. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. The prices are about $12-15 a bottle.

I enjoy interesting craft wines, and this is one of best for fruit wines. The chokecherry, white cranberry, and plum are great. The Headwaters Red is not only good for drinking, but fabulous for making Beef Burgundy. There is free tasting here, and a lovely picnic patio to relax on a summer day. great place to make a stop before going on to Bemidji or Itasca! The owners have always been friendly. And we have stopped here many times! The annual art fair in August is really ice, too.

Stopped here once or twice over the past few years, more for a diversion than anything. They have a good reputation for winemaking, but it is for FRUIT WINES. If you like raspberry or rhubarb or other fuit wines, that's fine; but if you want a 'TRUE' wine -- a Cab, Zin, Merlot or something along those lines, you need to look elsewhere.Truth is, it's hard to find any really good wine, of any type, even the ones made with grapes instead of fruit, in the whole state: the climate -- even with Global Warming -- has not yet reached the point of supporting the more robust and flavorful wine grapes found elsewhere in the US and the world. That said, and with a reminder that this is fruit wine, NOT grape wine, it may be worth a stop for you.

The older gentleman behind the counter refused to offer us the kinds of wine we like. He said that he knows better than us, we must follow his educated lead. Having had many wines over my years, I know what **I** like. He doesn't, and his lead was obnoxious. We would have bought more except for him.

My friend and I stopped at this winery on our way up to Bemidji for some biking. My husband and I have stopped at many wineries on our travels and this one compared well with those. It was a very cute little winery. Had a very nice gift shop with pottery and jewelry from local artisans. Their wines were fruit wines-the rhubarb wine was made from the rhubarb right there on the property. It was refreshing and a little dry-nice for summer. They gave us tastes of several different ones they had. The man there was informative and courteous. I recommend this stop for anyone who likes wines.

We visited the Forestedge during their Art Festival in late August. They have some really descent crafters there and when combined with the wine tasting, it makes for a really fun day. Their wines are pretty good too! The White Cranberry and Strawberry Rhubarb are worth checking out.

They have a wonderful art fair each year with very unique artists. The wine is great and the atmosphere relaxing.

Very nice winery with friendly owners. The fruit wines are surprisingly good (tasting is free). Very welcoming and enjoyable visit. Our kids were encourage to feed the chickens they had in a large pen (which they (both kids and chickens) loved. Will stop again.

Did not care for the man doing the tasting He was rather obnoxious. Wine was ok. It was attractive inside.
