We discovered Prairie Walls when we first moved to Rochester a few months ago. It has been a blessing over the winter months to stay in climbing shape with a large variety of routes for all climbing levels. The owner Dave is extremely friendly and helpful and has created a home-like atmosphere for regulars. The gyms also is extremely welcoming to new climbers offering classes, safety instruction and birthday parties options for kids. It may not look like much from the outside but due to it's dug-out floor, it definitely can keep you occupied for hours.

Rochester doesn't have a whole lot to see or do, but prairie walls is a well priced and often unknown attraction in rochester. Staff is friendly and the gym is very accommodating of both new and seasoned climbers

My son had his 8th birthday party here and the kids had a blast. The instructors where great with the kids and helped them along the way. The kids were very excited about being able to climb all of the different walls. They will even give you a room to open presents and have cake. Some of the kids left saying it was the funnest birthday party ever.

It’s seen better days and could go for a touch-up, but if you are into rock climbing they are very accommodating.
