It's very pretty, walk the trails, take it in, you wont be disappointed. The history is something everybody should enjoy. You can even get married there! It's our favorite lunch spot!

We visited the Rock Garden while staying at Driftwood Lodge Resort on the South shore of Lake Kab. Plenty of dock space to tie up. We took our lunch along but as soon as we stepped on land....the mosquitoes attacked. No amount of buy spray would keep them away. We briskly walked through the garden which is a shame because it is beautiful and Mr. Ellsworth spent so much time creating a beautiful place. We ended up anchoring offshore to eat lunch. The "outhouse" was extremely clean. A beautiful spot to visit.

Definitely worth seeing, a very creative person with a lot of ideas built these rock gardens. Can picnic out there as well.

Great picnic spot and pit stop with a great dock for tying up your boat (and with clean bathrooms too).Given the remote nature of the Ellsworth Rock Garden on Lake Kabetogama, you come to appreciate even more the surprising beauty and creativity of the place. The founder and creator of the rock gardens spent decades shaping and crafting the walkways and rock sculptures and it is now preserved by the Voyageur's National Park. Don't be disappointed if there are only a few gardens with flowering plants, it is very extensive and the restoration/ preservation is still in process and mostly volunteer based. Go for the rocks!

It is hard to describe a hillside of flat rocks with a variety of rock sculptures all over it. It was better than I expected although I would not recommend renting a boat jut to go there. If you have a boat though you might as well go there. When we went in mid-August there were no bugs and it was a very pleasant day.

The gardens are truly unique and beautiful. They were built by one man over a 15 year period. Due to the sequester, The park service no longer provides transportation to the gardens. We were lucky today to be brought there on a pontoon boat by Larry from Arrowhead Lodge. It was a wonderful experience. If you have a chance to see this spectacular garden...take it!

Lots of bugs the day we were there. Sort of an odd spot. Would be very nice for a picnic when the bugs aren't bad. Very nice pavilion and a johnny nearby.

Creative area, had lots to look at! We took our lunch out there, they have a great pavilion area too.

I am not a huge art fan, but you can tell that Mr. Ellsworth put a huge amount of time and effort into this sculpture garden. It was not well maintained for some time, but is being restored now. Great views of the lake.

The history of Ellsworth, the beauty of the land, and the serenity of nature speak for themselves: you should make a point of exploring here! Bring a picnic lunch!

Created by a Chicago architect, this garden is full of gorgeous flowers in the summer time. Rock sculptures that Mr. Ellsworth created without any power tools are amazing to the eye. There are over 50 sculptures within the garden that range in size and height. Make sure that when you visit Lake Kabetogama that you spend at least 30 minutes here.

We have been to the rock gardens many times over the years, alot of restoration has been done in the last few years. The more time you spend the more neat walls and sculptures you find.

What an awesome garden! Our family loved it! So much fun to explore! Our fist trip to the park was last year at the end of June and we saw it then but the flies and bugs were to bad to really enjoy the garden. This year we were here in the last week of May and they were not bad at all so we really got to enjoy the garden. Must see if your on Lake Kab.
