The Bookcase has relocated to 824 E. Lake St. It is now in a strip mall but, none the less, a small, independent book store with personality, warmth and friendly atmosphere. A friend and I went for a book reading and signing by a local author. It was wonderful. And we took the opportunity to browse the shelves and make a purchase. The clerk on duty was very friendly and helpful. She was ready to assist and answer any questions and make suggestions. There is no longer a coffee shop nearby, but the store has a coffee machine available for it's guests, where you can brew individual cups of coffee or cocoa. It is a wonderful place to spend some time, and peruse the books, in unhurried peace. I recommend it highly.

Well, used to live up in the Wayzata area back in the 90's and we always loved going to the Bookcase then. Recently visited and was very happy to see that the Bookcase is still there, still attached to the Caribou Coffee, and still the cosy little bookstore that it always was! The location is right across the street from Lake Minnetonka and you can sit outside with your new book or magazine and enjoy a cup of Caribou and watch the sunset. Beautiful! Great location, character and a coffe house included! Also, they do have a nice selection of local Minnesota books, maps, etc.
