Everything about the Xcel is great for an event. There is plenty of food, bathrooms, seating is on cushy chairs instead of hard plastic, sight lines are generally great. It can be a little pricey for food (as is any arena), there is one pinch point in the concourses to avoid (right to the left of the main gates) and parking can be expensive/hard to find, but nothing too bad.I have been here many times for the State High School Hockey Tournament/Wild games/Swarm games and have not yet been disappointed.

Good seats, good game --- except for the loss by the Wild. The arena is easy to get to and easy to get around. It is so noisy though --- all that loud music. Many food choices --- all over priced. Water at $4.50 --- a bit much.

This is a great location for sports, concerts and workshops. I have gone here for so many things its a perfect location for food, shopping, walking in St. Paul and parking as well as hotels and bus lines. It is a wonderful set up both inside as well as outside no mater what you are here for they did the xcel right!

Even though the second level was a little steep, we had great seats. Loved the local beer selections, I think I tried all of them throughout the course of the game. Long walk to the bathrooms but then I found out I walked the wrong way and the bathrooms were right there by where our seat were.

Norm Coleman! Thank you. This place is great for a hockey game and concert. I was pleased with the seating and the staff. They had great options for Gluten Free foods as well as for. Children. Cheers!

the building is beautiful and has great views to the city. Concourses are wide and full of energy. the food is disappointing at best.

Went there to see a Minnesota wild hockey game while visiting on a business trip. Plenty of parking around the stadium easy to get in easily get out. Very clean they really know what they're doing here. Not a bad seat in the entire stadium. Really my only complaint was when I first arrived an hour before the game or use the restroom and after I wash my hands could not find a single paper towel in any of the three or four dispensers they had. Not sure how they can all be empty prior to the game even starting?

If you stay at the Crown Plaza make sure you get a room that has been renovated! Excel Energy Center is awesome for a hockey game!

Went to the Wild vs. Coyotes hockey game and it was a blast. A lot of things going on in the arena. Lots of choices for food, drinks and a lot more. Fan friendly, kid friendly and well worth the price for everything I feel. Great job and keep up the great work!

My wife and I saw Fleetwood Mac at the Xcel Center. There were plently of people to guide us to our seats and also to show us were drinks were available and also where the bathrooms were located. One of the hosts also asked us if we would like for her to take our picture and she did.The sound was excellent even though the Xcel Center was packed. We had no trouble at all getting in and out of this facility.

I like to take the opportunity to visit different sporting venues to watch my favorite teams. In this case the Chicago Blackhawks were in town to take on the Minnesota Wild. The first thing to say is that you can get tickets at the Excel much cheaper that you can at the United Center if you want to see the Hawks. Another pleasant surprise was the quality and price of concessions. A giant and very tasty hot dog was only $5.50. I had a large Michelob for $9 (not out of sight for this kind of event). It also was of high quality. The rest rooms were adequate and clean as well. Seating was excellent. We were in section 208. Visibility was great. The only caution was the very steep decline to the seats. You really had to be careful. But there is a reason for this. It really allows for good visibility to the ice. One additional point, the parking is adequate but the roads around the stadium can be confusing for an out of towner. Get to the event early enough to make sure that you get your car parked on time.

The X as the natives call it, is an excellent venue to watch a hockey game! Most all seats offer a splendid view of the action! If you find yourself in Saint Paul, MN, why not watch a live hockey game?

When they are winning it's great fun to go to see them in action. There really isn't a bad seat in the house- it's a lot of fun. Not great food on the second floor ( top floor) really on arena food. Would love to see better food overall! still Love to go to this arena- have been there as well for concerts- great place for almost everything!

Went to the Minnesota Wild Hockey game the Tuesday before Christmas. Had great seats & had a wonderful time! Loved the new scoreboard in the middle of the arena. Always a fun time to go to a hockey game when I come to visit for the holidays!
