We went here for the first time today. We got there pretty late, but there were plenty of activities available. There's a large kids' play area and a cool corn maze. We didn't take the tractor ride to the pumpkin patch this time, but that's a must when we go back. They have a lunch menu that smelled good and seemed to be reasonably priced. My kids loved the caramel apples, and my pumpkin donut was delicious! There was a live band playing as we ate. The shop also sells popcorn, old-fashioned candy, homemade preserves and the like. What impressed me the most was that there was no souvenir shop selling junk made in China. It was a fun, relaxing way to spend an afternoon. I know we will be back.

We went for the first time Saturday September 27, 2014 to Ditmars Orchard outside of Council Bluffs. Not knowing what to expect, I was interested to see what their offerings were. Traditional apple orchard where as a family you can pick your own apples. Pumpkin patches to pick out your favorite size and color. A small play area with a jungle gym and corn pit to play in. Also, they offer a corn maze. Affordable hayrack ride, $2.00 (without the hay) pulled by a tractor to reach further into their orchards and pumpkin patches. Inside they offer food and beverages. Ditmars' make the best organic apple cider I have ever tasted and is well worth the price of $7.50 per gallon. This year they were hammered by an early, large hail storm that has impacted their apple orchard, but I am confident they will be back strong next year. They also now have added a winery with grapes grown on site. Didn't purchase wine so I couldn't rate.It's worth it for a nice quiet afternoon away from the city.Alan H

My husband and I have taken the kids to their kite festival, hot air balloon sail, and the hayrack ride at Halloween time. It's always fun but last nights visit was especially fun...my husband and I went alone for wine tasting!

I've visited Ditmar's a few times and I'm always delighted. It's fun to watch children discover the delight of an orchard. There is a nice variety of apples and the tractor ride is a delight -- most adults who hay ever been on a hay rack ride will enjoy this and two dollars is not outrageous. Today's visit included the special treat of watching kites fly.

This will definately become a stop anytime we head up to the Omaha area. Peaches were in season when we were up last weekend and they are juicy, sweet and delicious. This reminds me of picking peaches off my Great Grandma's tree. I would love to come back in the fall when their apples are in season.

This is the most inconsistant place I have even been to. I was a playgroup director in Omaha for 3 years and this was an oft requested playgroup, so I went each year. For me it is unimpressive. There is a fun playground, a hayrack ride to the apples, and a little maze you can walk through. It is a fun little activity, but for the price it is not much. Also, I found that sometimes the people working there were easy to work with and other times they wer not. One year aftedr we had reservations, an agreement on a group rate, and showed up, they changed the price quoted at the last minute as the moms with their small children were standing there waiting to go in. It was horendous.Given this experience I would usually give a 1 star, but the next year the service was better and the activity is fun for families with small kids!

Fun place to visit. Kind of relaxing to to walk around & pick your own apples right from the tree. Go during the Hot Air Balloon Festival.... really a sight to see.

Excellent wine!! Cute little shop. They have a nice hayrack that will take you to the top to pick apples and then bring you back down. Perfect for family day!

My son and I had fun apple picking at Ditmars. We went a little too late in the season, but still enjoyed our time there. Other families were there getting pumpkins and the ones I saw were great looking! We enjoyed eating the yummy apple crisp with ice cream. My son (4 years old) LOVED the apple sling shot and playground. We are definitely going back next year, probably a couple times so we can pick some cherries and peaches too.
