We came to see a band that played in their bar and we had a great time. Nice bar good sound and decent priced drinks. Casino was clean and It's of slot choices and service was excellent. If in the area again we will be back. Stayed at Hotel Julien and casino shuttled us over which was a great benefit.

Had a hard time finding the buffet. They have a very wide variety of food but was rather expensive compared to what we are use to paying for a buffet. Casino took our money!

Thus was my first time at Diamond Jos. I loved it. Walking in there was not a cloud of smoke. It did not smell HEAVILY of cigarettes either. Yes there was smoking but I walked out of there not smelling like an ashtray. I really enjoyed this casino. Disappointed there was not a small snack bar but there were a couple restaurant. I just wanted some snack food. I was impressed with the cocktail waitress in the middle of the day also. Overall, even though we lost quite a bit of money we had a great time and enjoyed it. We will definitely come back.

Can't believe they still allow smoking in pubic venues like this. Went on a very quiet night and TONS of slots from $.01 up to $5 I think. Tables were fairly quiet but plenty of options to choose from. Nice facility with easy parking but, seriously, smoking? Bummer!

My review is written from the perspective of someone who had consistently been a customer for five years. I had enjoyed gaming at the establishment, as well as dining at the restaurants and coming to the venue for entertainment. I tried to attend the Gaelic Storm concert at the Mississippi Moon Bar on a Sunday afternoon, 2/15/2015. In order to get to the Moon Bar, guests must enter through the casino area. As I mentioned, I had been a regular customer for five years and upon entering the casino area during my visits, sometimes I am asked to show my ID and sometimes I am not. For the concert, the security guard did not ask to see my ID so I entered to casino area. Almost immediately, a different gentleman rather rudely approached me and asked that I show the security guard my ID. I did this with no issue and went on my way to go into the concert at the Moon Bar.As I tried to enter the Moon Bar for the concert, the same gentleman who asked me to show my ID was closing down the main entrance to the concert and asked that the group I was with enter through a different entrance. We proceeded to do this and as we did so, I showed the gentleman my stamp I received at the main entrance indicating I was over 21. Apparently that was an inappropriate thing to do, because this employee began to ask me "what my problem was." I told him I didn't have a problem and that I was going to watch the concert. I continued to walk to the entrance he had instructed us to enter through and the employee began to follow me to the entrance and extremely loudly, continued to asked "if I had a problem." I again told him I didn't, but he still proceeded to follow me and make an issue of a seemingly meaningless issue. It was extremely embarrassing because it became a "scene" on the casino floor. I ended up not even entering the concert (by my own choice) because I was so appalled at how I had been treated. A pit boss who apparently had observed the entire situation, did a nice job of trying to defuse the situation and he asked me to still attend the concert. I told him I was done being a customer at the Diamond Jo. I asked the pit boss who the employee was who created the scene and he told me the gentleman was the Director of Security. I'm not a security expert, but if I were to take a guess, the job of the Director of Security is to make sure "scenes" and "situations" do not happen at the casino. I'd also guess that it probably would not be a good thing for employees of the Diamond Jo (including management, apparently), to create "scenes" and "situations." The whole incident I described was very bizarre. It was like this gentleman was looking for a confrontation. He was over-the-top and verbally aggressive.I agree with the previous poster who said the casino has gone downhill in recent years. Fortunately in Dubuque, consumers have a choice if they want to go to a casino. I'll take my business to Mystique.

The casino has a great number of machines and they truly treated you as a guest.Shuttle service to and from the hotel was great and never had to wait long either way.

Really appreciate the entertainment Diamond Jo brings to Dubuque. We regularly enjoy a wide variety of musical performances in the Mississippi Moon Bar, the Woodfire Grille dining room has great appetizers and dinners, service and an interesting wine bar, and Cherry Lanes is a fun family outing. The casino is always busy and offers a wide choice of gaming options. It is also a beautiful spot to host weddings in their upstairs rooms.

This casino has gone downhill since I first came here some 8 years ago. Can only surmise, budget cuts, change in management, and the manner in which customers are treated. Would not recommend this casino at all. The only good thing about this casino is the location, next to Grand Harbor, National Mississippi Museum, and Mississippi River -- all family friendly places.

Great entertainment with Cherry Lanes bowling and Mississippi Moon Bar for comedy and music. My friends around the world always ask how Dubuque gets such awesome shows. We ate fortunate to attend most music venues, from Davy Jones to Jewel to Rock Springfield to Crystal Gayle to Beach Boys to Gaelic Storm. Add that fun to several near food venues, from cities top fine dining in the Wildfire Grill, the sports bar in Mojo's, delicatessen for quick orders and renowned buffet. Receiving support from city residents is critical in success, but offering fun for folks from Tristate region are its prime reason for fun. We thoroughly enjoy the Diamond Jo.

We love to come to Diamond Jo's. It is a beautiful casino with lots to offer. There is such a variety of slots. The entertainment at the Mississippi Moon Bar is the best. The seating is perfect. We were just at the Rubber Soul concert. What a great show. We will be back.

We were in the area, the kids were playing at the waterparks across the street. We were looking for options of fun things to do, then discovered there was a bowling alley upstairs from Diamond JonCasino. Worked out perfect, the kids could bowl while we continued watching football on the big screen. It was awesome that they offer options for all age groups. They even played in the arcade while we lost some $$ in the casino. Nice spot for all ages.

we like to go to Dubuque, Ia because there is lots to do in Dubuque and there are two casinos and dog track. Diamond Jo has good food at MoJo café and deli if you want a fast meal. Most of time the buffet is good, but I look at it before I buy just in case there are too many casseroles. Chicken , fish, and salads are very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I have lost my sweater twice and each time have gotten it back. Good variety of machines and if you play a lot the gifts and rewards are great.

The casino has some of the newest machines and lots of room. Machines are kept clean and free of clutter. Hostess came around quite often to get you drinks. Didn't win but my money lasted quite awhile
