This would be a perfect place to camp with lots to see & do had we not had a very bad experiance with one of the campground host/hostesses. The one particular person we dealt with was very unprofessional and very very rude. I would suggest that the park be a lot more particular on who they choose to put in this position. It really put a damper on how we felt about the campground. And because of it I probably will never go back.

We walked around the lake and did some geocaching while here. What a pretty park! We didn't camp or use the concession stand so I can't rate that, but it look like a nice place to camp. They had kayaks and paddle boats if someone wants to rent them.

My family and I spent 2 nights in a tent near the lake at Beeds Lake this weekend. We've been here 3 or 4 times and will definitely keep coming back. The primitive camping site #138 has a great view of the lake and several great fishing areas. We also enjoyed paddle boating, but you can rent fishing boats and kayaks at the park as well. You can also take a nice 2 mile or so hike around the lake. The only bad thing to report was a notice about Ecoli in the drinking water & the lake water bacteria levels were high as well.

This state park has first come first serve camping as well as reservable sites. There are plenty of non-electric spots for tents, which was what we were interested in. Great trails around the lake. A lodge where you can buy firewood, snacks, and rent canoes/kayaks.

Friendly staff and a quiet relaxing park. Nice get away! The large shelter house is a great place for get togethers

Walk the trail around the lake (about 2 miles)! We love to go for a walk with our dog here. Also great camping area.

spent many hours here growing up, and whenever I go back it just seems to get better. One of the few places I know where the adventurous can walk across the dam.

Its not a big state park, but it beats the crowds of others in Iowa. We camped, and it was very quiet. Lots of trees so it seemed more real. Had nice paths and trails right next to the camp site that lead down to a stone dam, and you can fish down there, or anywhere along the lake for that matter. The lake itself is not big. There is a beach area that was clean we were there, but the water was literally HOT! It was 90+ degrees the day we went swimming so it wasnt what we were expecting! They do have a shop where you can buy refreshments, wood, snacks, etc. and you can rent paddle boats also. Those are fun! Nice playground areas and several diffeent boat launches.
