This blacksmith shop was in operation from 1883-1940. From the time of Edel's death in 1940 until the shop was opened as a museum, the shop was left virtually untouched. The place is filled with interesting history and a calendar from 1930 hangs on the wall. Displayed are Edel's tools and inventions. A helpful and informational guide is there tell you all you need to know. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the shop is open from noon to 4 pm. There is no admission fee, but free-will offerings are accepted.

The blacksmith shop is not well known, but if you want to see how such shops looked some 50 or more years ago, this is a good place to be. It's not cleaned up spic and span, it's the way it was, dust and all. Which is part of its charm.
