greater shenandoah historical society museum

This museum is a delightful and broad view of Shenandoah's history, from the history of radio there, to early Mormon settlements, to textiles, to notable veterans. The docents are very helpful . Spend a pleasant few hours here.

this is a great place to visit in the afternoons when it is open - lots of interesting things about Shenandoah to see - would take one 5 days or more to really see every thing - free will donation can be given - curator / director is very friendly and willing to take time to answer all questions - unique collections from local residents are on display at various times from plate collections to engraved wooden boxes - very , very interesting

I come to this museum every time I'm in Shenandoah. Was born here, and though I have not lived here for a long time, I love to revisit the history of Shen's first families, the industries that put it on the map, and it's founding. This and more are the museum's treasures. Docents can answer any questions. Don't miss this when you are in the area!

Thsi museum has a great amount of historical items to view - its usually open in the afternoons and there is no charge but donations are accepted - I spent 3 hours browsing the exhibits and only got thru about 1/7 of what i wanted to see - there is currently a collection of Rose dishes and also piano minatures - also a 1920's collection of Pyrography ( woodburning) items - also mammoth skull and bone artifacts from a local quarry - exc ellent historical items and pictures throughout - staff member was very courteous in answering my many questions - i can not wait to come back

Very nice museum, the staff were very informative. They have quite a few items in the museum and the history of the area well documented. Having some time to spare we found this to be a great place to check out the local history. Very well done.
