The Renaissance style architecture of this building is unique, interesting, and beautiful. This historic railroad station, built in 1898, is known as the Rock Island Depot or the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad Depot. It was once listed as one of Iowa's most endangered properties. Fortunately, the building was saved and restored. It is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and it serves as the home of the Atlantic Area Chamber of Commerce. The building is located at the north end of Chestnut Street, the main north-south street in Atlantic.
