I live in Chicago, there is no local place to 'hit the slopes' on real mountains. I like to travel out west to visit my brother in Idaho yearly. Every year my brother and I like to go boarding at Silver Mountain Resort. the trails are long and great. plus i really enjoy the LONG gondola ride up to the resort. There are several trails and several lifts. the mountain is large so its not super crowded because there is so many places to go. We definitely plan to return here regularly.

This was our first time visiting Silver Mountain Resort. We only went for the water park. Upon arriving we were able to check in 5 hours early which was great to unload some very excited kids and get some lunch in our bellies. There were all together 4 adults and 4 kids and we rented the deluxe family suite, which had a full kitchen...a full size stove and refrigerator, even a dishwasher and washer and dryer...We went to the Walmart down the road a bought some breakfast food, dinner for one night and snacks... We stayed in one night and made breakfast each morning...they supply dishes, dish soap and dishwasher detergent! They even gave us complimentary laundry soap to wash some laundry. I know some people will think Im crazy because "Who wants to cook and wash laundry while on vacation?" but Im serious when I say that being able to go back to your room after running around a water park all day, shower, pour a glass of vino, and let the kiddos watch tv while you converse and throw something in the oven is my idea of easy and relaxing...We did go have a nice dinner one night, but I enjoyed staying at the room more than eating out. The water park is a lot of fun and they have some food and drinks that aren't too crazy priced but not great...that's my only complaint is the restaurants aren't that good but are decent...That's my personal experience, loved the room and having the amenities they supply! Definitely going back!

Water Park is amazing and entertains all ages. Would definitely go again. Gondola is a "ride " in itself. Do not recommend Tube Snow Sledding not good value for money, lines up too long.

We spent our Christmas here last year. The rooms were beautiful with a lodge décor. The fireplace was great to add to the ambience. Only draw back was the outside corner unit we had made the fireplace be a thru wall style where it could be seen in the bedroom and living room at the same time. Awkward at night when someone is sleeping on the couch looking through the glass of fireplace right into the bedroom!Kitchen was well stocked and plenty of seating at dining table and in the living room. The full size oven was great for baking casseroles we brought from home. The washer & dryer was handy right in the closet of our unit. There is only one bathroom in the one bedroom units. I'd prefer if it had another half bath if you are staying with kids or another couple. The gondola ride to ski was so convenient! We never drove all week. The lines for the lifts were super short so no long wait times freezing. Plenty of run choices for all levels. Save even more money by purchasing your lift & rentals online from their website before you come. The water park kept us busy. Yes, you walk outside to get to it which is exhilarating in the winter! Their is a full bar upstairs by the adults hot tubs. Their is a snack bar on main level with plenty of pop and fried foods. I'd love to see a couple non-fried option available some day.All in all, we enjoyed our visit enough to schedule this year's Christmas there again.

The rooms we clean and we appreciated the mini kitchen. The king size bed was amazing, but the pull out bed from the couch was rough, you could feel the springs and not much padding. The kids didn't mind, but don't make an adult sleep on it. Bring your own food. They have 1 or 2 places to eat at the resort. There are no restaurants close enough to the resort to walk to. Especially if you have small children, you know it is hard to eat out every meal.Front desk was efficient and kind. The water park was FUN! The staff was attentive and were kind when enforcing the rules. The lifeguards were constantly walking their areas and watching, instead of standing still or chatting or not paying attention. THANK YOU for being attentive. There was an employee with a broken arm and they found a job he could do, which shows me they care for their staff. I felt like they took care of the guests and helped answer my questions and offer alternatives to accommodate my small children.

If you love to ski or snow board, this is an incredible place. You drive into Kellogg, Idaho, park in a paved lot and reach the mountain top by a scenic gondola ride. I have always hated driving up a slippery windy road and parking in a snowy dirt lot. You arrive at the mountain house and take off to explore 1600 acres of terrain with 73 trails; there are also hidden gems of powder for back county fun. Silver receives over 300 inches of snow annually. Here is ground floor opportunity -- houses sell for around $50,000 and season lift tickets are between $309 to $639 (youth to adult). There are many preseason specials that save you money on passes. You can fly in, own your own vacation home and purchase lift tickets for less than a week at a Colorado ski resort! Silver Mt also offers a tubing park and a water park. The Morningstar Lodge is great place to stay or other close by hotels are available. When the snow melts, there are world class biking trails for all levels (also check out nearby Route of the Hiawatha and the Trails of the Coeur d'Alenes) and the Galena Ridge Golf Course. I must also mention hiking, fishing, boating, hunting, ATV riding - it's all here! My vacation was so amazing, I moved here!

We loved it here! The rooms are well appointed with a little kitchenette and the beds are very comfortable! The grounds are beautiful and we'll maintained and the employees are all friendly and English speaking. We didn't get a chance to take the gondola because of thunder storms but we did take the mine tour in Wallace & loved it. We don't have small kids but if we did, they would be in heaven at the indoor water park! We would definitely stay here again.

Get in the gondola and ride to the top! The views are the best and it's the longest gondola ride in the US. How cool is that? This ride is very relaxing great for photo opts. Believe it or not, you actually climb up then go back down, then climb up to the to top where the elevation is approx. 6400 ft. Once you reach the top you can continue on the ski lift on trail #3 if you haven't gotten enough! Great fun, go and enjoy!

We stayed here and had access to the waterpark which was a great perk. There is plenty of food within walking distance. The area is very safe. There are outdoor games and the gondola ride to the top of the mountain is right out your front door. We stayed in the studio for 2 nights. They had dishes, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave. Very nice, clean rooms. The resort was clean and everyone was very friendly.

My wife and I went up the gondola (longest single cable gondola in the world) in early July. The views were awesome. The employees were very friendly and helpful. We ate at the top in the cafe and the food was excellent for a mountain top cafe (cafeteria). We had the veggie burger and the Rueben. One of the better Rueben's that I have had and the portions were generous.

Room was gorgeous and waterpark was very clean . The kids and us as parents loved it. It was nice that you didn't even have to leave the resort for entertainment or food. We played with the life size checker board, went to the waterpark, dinner, and roasted marshmallows by the campfire all on the resort. There was also ping pong tables, gondola rides, and shopping as well.

Kids ski and snowboard, I snowshoe, we love tubing. Lots to do, or just enjoy breathtaking view! Gondola ride can be scary on a windy day. Good food for purchase or bring your own. Perfect day with the family.

We stayed one night in a deluxe family suite. The accommodations were quite nice. Comfortable king bed as well as a sleeper sofa which the kids slept well on. The suite includes a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, kitchen sink and an assortment of plates, utensils, wine glasses, etc. Walk out balcony is nice and would be enjoyable in warm weather. Our girls, ages 7 and 5, enjoyed the water park immensely. They had lots of fun body surfing, riding water slides and floating in the lazy river. The lifeguards were very attentive and the facility was overall clean and well kept. The food choices inside the water park are not great. Mostly fried and greasy. Ice cream and smoothies are available as are sodas and adult beverages. We had poor service from the servers at the Lunch Bucket.....4 or 5 young girls milled around, did not ask if anybody needed anything. Had to ask to be helped and then they were surly and hardly spoke to us. The room charge system wasn't working so lots of people who had not brought other forms of payment with them couldn't get food. The server upstairs at Trestles was much better and very accommodating. Restaurants at the resort are limited. We ate at Noah's one night which was good. Ate breakfast at the cafe on site, food was fine, prices a little high. Would come again but might try harder to bring our own food for snacks and most meals.

This was my first time skiing at all. I think that Silver Mountain, Idaho was a great start for me. This resort is made up of many mountains- some easier then others. The ski school that I took there was fabulous in teaching me the basic steps- along with some tips and tricks. The gondola ride up the mountain was fascinating as you look down at all the beautiful trees atop the mountain side. Also, the people were as nice as they could be. If you fell down, they would help you right back up. But best of all, it was not crowded at all. Compared to ski resorts like Breckinridge, CO, it was not very commercial. My favorite part of the whole entire trip was the water park- there are so many options for kids. I would definitely recommend it as 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

I stayed with my husband and two kids ages 11 & 13. The room was beautiful but one king bed and a sleeper sofa? We had to order a roll-away for my daughter. On a beautiful summer day you can spend the day in the indoor water park which is hot and humid, or ???. You can pay extra $$$ to ride the gondola up the mountain and hike; that was fun. But really not good hiking trails you can access from the "resort". The resort is in the middle of the interesting little town of Kellogg. There is no outdoor swimming pool on the property. . There is no wifi. My 11 year old enjoyed the kids' scavenger hunt, the kids also enjoyed the outdoor movie and the s'mores roast (cost is extra). For the amount we paid I did not feel like this was a good deal at all.
