We boat this river at least once a summer from Sandpoint to Albeni Dam.(About 25 miles) A picnic stop-over at Reilly Creek Camp Grounds is a must. Great swimming beach, campsites and launch site with docks. Lots of water-skiers from many summer homes...but not a major problem. There's a nice restaurant at Dover Bay with docks.A map would be handy.

Pend Orielle is my favorite place to go boating. It is much less crowded than CDA, and it is a beautiful river.

Lots of small scenic towns along the river. Metaline Falls area features a train ride (from the Lions Club) that takes you on an old railline over the dam at Metaline Falls. It sets high above the river. Small donation of a buck will get you on. Must find out dates because it runs only at certain times. We are from Spokane and drive that way many times in the Summer to enjoy the people and the water activities.
