I've been on the river a number of times with friends on self guided trips, and this was my first outfitted trip. It simply exceeded every expectation I had. I expected the guides to be great, the food spectacular, the scenery as gorgeous as ever, the camping to be luxurious; all this was true. I did not expect to feel by day 2 that everyone on the trip, particularly the owner Willi, Kat the amazing photographer/human, and the guides were my great friends and river buddies. I did, tho. This company is amazing, and this trip is not something anyone should pass up.

My Sept. 2014 trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon was the most relaxing week I have ever experienced. Beautiful scenery, great service from experienced guides and fresh, top quality meals all week. No cell phone, no computers for 6 days. Just fresh air, trout and the constant sound of a beautiful river. The Solitude crew was on top of everything and were ready with answers when needed. Willi and his crew worked hard all week and it is obvious they love what they do. This is the first float trip I have done like this, and I will be back for more.

Just finished my third trip with Solitude on the Middle Fork and I thought it couldn't be better then the first two!! Boy was I wrong, this was the best trip ever, weather, food, gin clear water, fishing was the best ever and the guides are the best in the world, Gary, Tom, George, Shan, Charles and the new owner Willi Cannell. If you want to have a trip of a life time, call Willi!! I can't wait until my next trip!!!

This Orvis endorsed outfitter is beyond first class! Great fishing for beautiful and plentiful cutthroats. Friendly and knowledgeable guides. Great food! Glam ping the Middle Fork is about as comfortable a wilderness experience I could imagine. This was my third trip with this outfitter and I will be back next year. If you want a great wilderness trout fishing experience in a beautiful and unspoiled region of the country, don't miss this. I did it once in the summer in 2012 which is a family friendly time for kids about 10 and older. Some whitewater thrills, plenty of side hikes to see pictographs and other Pioneer Day sites. The fall is a little shorter, with cooler weather and all about the fish. Great adventure!

We caught fish, ate well, met great new friends, told stories, saw spectacular scenery, hiked, soaked in natural hot springs and relaxed; all in the same trip. Six days of floating and fly fishing the Middle Fork of the Salmon River was the most memorable outdoor adventure we ever had. Willi Cannell and his team are incredible. They are experienced outfitters, boatmen and culinary experts with a thorough understanding of the wilderness. They work together as a team and take great care of their guests. We felt safe throughout the trip. We would go anywhere with the crew of Solitude River Trips and hope to return again.

It's been said that rafting the Middle Fork of the Salmon is one of the premier white water trips in the world, and now we can see why. The Solitude river rafting guides made it a truly memorable experience for our whole family. Willi and Kat were so well-organized that the logistics appeared seamless. The guides all had many years of experience and besides knowing the river well, they were knowledgeable about the flora, fauna, and history of the region. They were also friendly, helpful, and had a great sense of humor. Such a friendly atmosphere was created that even the less sociable members of the group made friends. The food was absurdly delicious. There was a great variety of gourmet-quality fresh food all six days. This is our family's third white water rafting trip and the rapids on this river where the best by far. If you ever have an urge to raft the Middle Fork of the Salmon, Solitude is the way to go.

Outstanding in every way! Rafting the Middle Fork of the Salmon with Solitude is an experience that should not be missed. Truly spectacular! Solitude's guides set the "gold standard" in my eyes. Experts on the river, engaging, hard working and great trout anglers. My compliments to (new owners) Willi and Cat for flawless execution given the very challenging logistics.

Fishing, Kayaking, Hiking, Rafting. The Middle Fork is a powerful river in a literal and emotional sense. The rapids are certainly a challenge in the inflatable kayaks and the scenery is breathtaking for miles and miles. Days of rafting and exploring are followed by evenings of camaraderie of guests and crew. The owner (Willie and Kat) and Crew provided safety, fascination, fun, memories, and day to day needs on an exceptional leval. Solitude was the perfect host to the perfect spot.

We LOVED our trip down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River with Solitude! There were 6 of us -- my husband and I and our 3 children (11 year old girl,13 &15 year old boys) and our God-daughter who is 19. My husband fly-fished all 5 days and then the rest of us filled in on the fly fishing boat individually on any given day. The fishing is incredible. Beautiful cut throat that are easy to catch (even for me and it was my first time fly-fishing). The boys loved going down the rapids in the "duckies" -- the inflatable kayaks. My daughter (as the youngest on the trip) was treated like royalty by all the guides who went out of their way to be kind and engaging with her. The food and camps were excellent. I am not a "roughing it" person but Solitude made everything so easy that it felt like a real vacation -- even with no running water or electricity! It was without a doubt one of the best family trips we have ever taken.

Our extended family of 14 people ranging in age from 16 to 75 recently returned from a weeks rafting trip down the middle fork of the salmon river with Solitude river trips. It was absolutely wonderful! It was exciting, beautiful, gourmet and all around fun. You can get "into it" as much as you want or ride along lazily if you want. You will get wet though. The food was very good and more than plenty of it. The guides who also did the cooking were absolutely adorable and sweet with very good manners and excellent customer service. Each day we had an extra stop at a point of interest such as natural hot spring, gorgeous water falls, Indian cave drawings and more. Sleeping accommodations were tents that were set up each night for us and we all did sleep on the ground with air mattresses.I highly recommend this Solitude river trips and the owner Willie Cannell. Our extended family of 14 people ranging in age from 16 to 75 recently returned from a weeks rafting trip down the middle fork of the salmon river with Solitude river trips.
