Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library is truly a must-see for the Delaware visitor. We are fortunate to have so many treasures left to us by the Dupont family. This and Longwood Gardens are truly treasures and every visitor to Delaware should see them.

Did this today on a bus tour and it was amazing. Went to see the German heritage rooms and PA. Folk art. Everything was put together so well and although we spent a good portion of the day there, it was not enough time to see nearly everything. It is close to Longwood Gardens, but do not even try to do both of these in one day, it just is not possible.I really want to go back in spring when the trees and flowers are blooming.Everything is beautiful displayed and the guides, curators and staff are knowledgeable . There is so much to see here and wonderfully preserved and put together.Although some older children might appreciate this attraction, it is definitely not a place to take younger children, if you plan to tour the mansion and displays. That being said, the grounds and gardens in spring and summer would work well for children. You have to check the schedule to see when certain garden areas are open.

Reserved Yuletide Tour tickets (house tours) were required during the Yuletide season this year. This was to ensure that those who were coming would have an opportunity to see both the house and the Costumes of Downton Abbey exhibition and could plan in advance and not be disappointed. In addition, we were offering Costumes of Downton Abbey-only tickets during Yuletide for those who were not interested in a house tour. We apologize if you were not aware of this information. We did post it on our website and in our various communication channels.

Regarding the garden, it is absolutely stunning in spring and summer, and into tall. The successive blooms showcase vivid colors and give off fragrant smells. We hope you do return. We have two exhibitions opening this year. In the spring art from Pennsylvania Germans is on display in A Colorful Folk, and in the fall, Tiffany Glass: Painting with Color and Light opens. We hope you are able to come visit again.
