The experience was un-matched. Kevin went the extra mile in explaining and captivatinghis audience. It was well worth the money. He also spent extra time with us in the field viewingthe sky. If you stay over in Bryce, this is a 'must-do' experience.

My friend stumbled upon an ad for the dark ranger in the lobby of our hotel. I didn't think I'd be up for a night of star gazing after a full day of hiking... However Kevin's energy is infectious. He was my favorite part of the trip. Not only does he clearly love what he does, but he's really good at it! Charismatic and knowledgeable, Kevin first explains the ins and outs of space. Next you are taken out to a field to star gaze. Our group was shown star clusters, nebulas, galaxies, and a comet. If you're a space (or even a science fiction) enthusiast, you will have a blast. We were originally slated to stay out until 9pm, however we were having so much fun that Kevin guided us until 10:30pm. Definitely worth it.

This experience is as breathtaking as Bryce Canyon itself. The value offered by the Dark Rangers is unmatched, as you get a captivating introduction to the world of astronomy and then get a hands-on experience with very large telescopes backed by the Rangers' fascinating insight into all objects and constellations in the visible sky.During our viewing, Kevin was kind, charismatic, funny, and very approachable. His explanations will make sense to both children and even seasoned astromers. This experience is sure to inspire a sense of awe in anyone lucky to be a part of it, and you should make it a must in your Bryce Canyon adventure.

Came across his ad inside the Best Western Plus and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I came in expecting to gaze at some stars, but walked out with much more. Since I was in a small group, I was able to view galaxies, stars, and comets for about an hour and a half. Kevin was able to quickly answer questions regarding astronomy, felt personable, and showed a lot passion towards the stars. I've been inspired to truly appreciate the stars above us.

Our planned 2 hour session including a discussion of astronomical events and phenomena followed by dark sky viewing extended almost 2 hours past the expected time. "Poe" the Dark Ranger has a gift for making astronomy understandable, and his knowledge base is as deep as his enthusiasm is boundless! Worth at least twice what he actually charges.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dark Ranger Telescope Tours. Kevin was such a gracious host and I learned so many things. Even though it was getting pretty cold out, he made sure we got to stay out long enough to have a great view of Jupiter and its 4 moons (seeing Jupiter through that gigantic telescope was just awesome--I won't ever forget it). In the meantime, he showed us all sorts of fascinating things including Uranus, a comet, constellations (it's amazing to be in a place where you can actually make out the connections that make up the famous constellations), so many different stars, star clusters, galaxies, etc. I even learned about how our eyes work in viewing the stars and all in all it was just amazing. Don't hesitate booking this tour. The one-on-one attention you get makes it an experience you won't match anywhere else.

We had a fact filled and fun presentation by Kevin last night and then got to look through three telescopes at an amazing sky! The ability to see stars, planets, moons and galaxies was terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed the three hours. Would highly recommend you include in your Bryce Canyon trip. Had a blast.

A small operation on the edge of Bryce, and that's a real positive as the owner Kevin deliverers an informal, informative introduction to the night sky and space.Time with the telescopes is really hands on and quite unusual for this type of tour, Kevin provides a constant stream of info whilst your out stargazing.Excellent value, Kevin you should charge more. Thanks Arthur 'Carl' Dent

This was more than worth it! Bryce canyon offered us the darkest and clearest spot in North America and Kevin and his sons offered us an amazing experience. The presentation was mind-blowing, witty, and inspiring. There were three telescopes always cued to something impressive and easily shared with a small group. Waiting to look through the telescopes was just as interesting as Kevin had endless things in the night sky to point out and talk about. Again, this was well worth it!
