Downtown canyon with hiking, biking, and picnicking. Open year round! Picnic tables available as well as restrooms. A running creek too! Beware of bike schedules in the summer (odd dates for bikes, even dates for cars, all days for walkers).

Great architecture and great store. The atmosphere is nice, especially because of the fountains and the river all around the mall.

Short hike - you can tailor it to your group easily.Parking can be a pain, but if you are flexible, it can be great. For the less adventurous, there are several parks in the city limits that the creek flows through.

OK, its a glorified fashion mall. too cold to visit the shops outside. really need an interior entrance to see the best shops.

Feels safe, easy to plot a run of a variety of lengths. You can't beat the scenery. It is so convenient to downtown, there's no excuse not to fit in a run before your day at the convention center or at attractions.

If you are visiting the Capitol you must take a walk along this canyon. Super easy, as it is paved on one side (a little tricky to hike on the dirt path as parts are washed away), yet you feel like you are miles away from the hubbub of the city. It's quiet, peaceful, many trees. And the first part is through a memorial park which is interesting.

this is a nice high end shopping center. They have it all there.Next to the temple as well so for day time or evening time shopping it is well done for the Christmas season. The walk thru this mall was nice for being in Salt Lake City for a few days. Parties will enjoy the atmosphere here.

I love hiking this canyon, right outside a neighborhood, it is so beautiful all times of the year. The terrain changes, it is quiet, and a great place to walk, exercise and enjoy nature

If you are new to the area and live downtown, this is a good nearby place for a bike ride, or relatively flat stroll. But the canyon is NOT scenic. Visit Millcreek if you walk dogs or want a flat stroll (Pipeline) and good scenery; Big and Little Cottonwood for Scenery.

this is just one quick turn out of downtown, burbling creek, shaded hikes in the lower canyon energetic runners and bikers up top. A haven

We all enjoyed walking through this canyon. It was right in the heart of the city, but it felt rural. Plan to spend a couple of hours.

I was finally able to visit the City Creek to find out that tearing down the old mall had been worth it. The layout is spacious and interesting. Lots of nice shops.

Go to City Creek Canyon right at the fall color change. A walk through Memory Grove will leave an indelible impression, like so many melting crayons. Strange analogy, I know.. :) The creek, bridges, monuments, trees, all beautiful.

Reviewers seem to be clumping these into one--but they are two very different experiences. City Creek Canyon is a pleasant place to hike which starts from downtown. Great for running or just getting some time away from traffic.City Creek Mall, on the other hand, is a beautiful new shopping center in the heart of downtown. I'm not much of a shopper, but it's definitely worth a visit if you're in town because it is remarkably well designed. And it's a great place to get rid of all that excess cash you brought along.

Don't miss this place!! The shopping is great but the views are phenomenal!! It was a mix of outdoors and shopping!!!
