This trail has never been a must do, but there are some versions of it that are above and beyond total slick rock riding…and unmarked. The trail ends with the Portal, which is the most scenic and technical bit of riding you may be part of.

This is a moderately easy trail, with some bypasses, there is some great scenery. I would recommend this trail if you have a moderately built rig.

If your into adventure and want to see some beauty you will need to take this trail. A must for a 4 wheel drive.

I love this trail, it has some challenging climbs and drops, will challenge your skills and can be done by an intermediate who doesn't mind hopping off their bike for 2' drops. I love any trail in Moab...the scenery is amazing.

If you have a 4x4 that is lifted, and you like a hard 4x4 ride, this one is for you. My Jeep is lifted 3 inches and I have lockers. I never used my lockers but then again, I know how to get the best line and speed. I did however go to 4low on this trail. Great views and a lot of fun.

Amazing views, a variety of landscape, and a fun, challenging trail! This trail has a little bit of everything! It's very challenging, so make sure you're an "expert" driver with the correct equipment. This was our first time on Poison Spider and we had no issues with our Jeep. It is now on our list of favorites and we can't wait to do it again in March!!

A difficult off-road trail with a variety of terrains, very good views of the desert, wildlife, obstacles to overcome, and plenty of thrill if you are driving a 4x4. After a few miles it crosses another, even more difficult trail. Highly recommended.

Took in Poison Spider bike trail today. Tough trail for the intermediate rider, lots of jeeps and motorcycles. Beautiful day, not too hot, Will most likely ride the trail before we leave but, will most likely Walk every once in awhile in the really hairy spots. Well laid out, well marked, and definitely challenging for mountain bike enthusiasts.

It was very hot and no shade. Loved the challenge. Did not do the whole trail because it was too close to dark and did not want top be on the trail after dark.

I've ridden this trail dozens of times on my mountain bike. It's a fun ride for those who enjoy technical riding and climbing. If you're not an experienced rider this probably isn't the trail for you as the climbs can be tricky and so can the descent. You can ride back down the 4x4 road or head down the Portal trail to go back into the canyon. The portal should be considered very dangerous and is only recommended for advanced riders. Definitely get off your bike where the signs indicate to get off. We almost lost a friend there one year as he attempted to ride the section. The Portal can be difficult to find if you don't know where you're going or it's getting dark. I'd recommend doing this trail with someone who has done it before you venture off alone. Bikers would be better to avoid this trail altogether during jeep safari weekend as it's basically a traffic jam of jeeps all along the 4x4 section of the trail.

I always pegged this as a great 1st time Moab 4wd trail, but depending on your experience, this may be further up the ladder for you.. Thrilling climbs, awesome tippy spots and of course, the scenery is unlike anywhere else in the states. I've driven this trail in the heat of the summer, the dead of winter, and under blinding rain out of nowhere on a previously sunny day. It never gets old and is a good time every time.

We make a point of running this trail every time we come to Moab. We always combine it with Golden Spike and Gold Bar. If you are looking for a super hardcore jeep trail then this isn't it but if you want to have some fun and see some beautiful scenery then this is the place to go. Parts of the trail seem to get easier every year while others get harder, that's the fun part! Unfortunately the ATV's seem dead set on getting these trails closed down as the trail keeps getting more abused and more and more bypasses are being made around the tough sections by them. My advice, if you can't stay on the trail and make the obstacle, turn around and go somewhere else! If you can't respect the trails then please stay home. This is a great, historic trail that is being threatened by a few uncaring people.

Great jeep trail to run, big climb, but better down hill finish. do it early to avoid the heat. Moderate in difficulty.

While this is an ORV and bike trail, I hiked part of it during the government shutdown. You can easily step aside whenever bikes or jeeps come by. The hike it's worth it because after about an hour of walking you will be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama.
