This park, while small, is packed with options. There is a pool, dock for boating or fishing, and places to hike and walk. Or, feel free to sit down and have a nice picnic lunch. It isn't that far out of town.

Love this park, it has everything for the family. Wonderful trails to hike and beautiful scenery. I can ride the trails or I can walk my dog. Worth my tax dollars.

I went to college in Chattanooga back in the '80s and used to come here often just to relax and get away. It's so beautiful right on Chickamauga Lake. The facilities are weathered but the park itself is pretty much the same. There's a nice pier, picnic pavilions, and bathroom facilities. Quiet and serene. Great place for skipping rocks. I'm pleased to find that it's still a great park to just relax and get away.

I love how this park is off on it's own. I came by it on accident and so glad I did. Not many people there which is perfect! Very pretty environment and scenery. I enjoyed my time there very much and plan to return soon.

Just a quick stay. Only a few miles from Harrison Bay State Park. Right on the lake with beautiful views of the lake. Covers docks to walk on or fish from. No camping at this park. Just a nice little park to spend a few hours.

My kids love going to the park to swim, fish, and canoe. Our family visits the park at least twice a month. Nice trails too!

Perhaps because it does not have camping or RV facilities, this park seems both more laid-back friendly and contemplative than most rural public parks I've visited. There are always welcoming folks fishing off the "purpose-built" pier, but this large park offers a lot of solitude and calming water views. Despite their age, the bathroom facilities have always been immaculate on my many visits. The group camp facilities are CCC-era but tidy. They are up on a hill in an old campground, so they don't have the nice water views afforded the fishing pier and picnic pavilions. This arrangement makes for solitude for those who want it and ample playing field space for those who want to run around. As another reviewer noted, the park has historical and cultural significance, particularly as a site for recalling the many, diverse, and often forgotten African-American contributions to the region. Being 15-20 minutes from downtown Chattanooga, I think of it as a neighborhood park in which to spend a few quiet hours just sitting or strolling. I understand the fishing is pretty good too.

I walk my dog in this park . It is large and offers several venues. There is a boat dock which we use and marina and a very good restaurant. There is a first class golf course close, fishing and campsites are available.

Victim of the State budget. Go to Harrison Bay State Park

Nice clean state park. Always see lots of people fishing and picnicking. Nice playground areas for the kids to play on and adequate bathroom facilities. Also has camping areas and cabins up the hill and around the corner from the fishing/picnicking area. The area appears to have been a reef millions of years ago and the rock and geological features that are in the park along the water line are absolutely breathtaking.

BT Washington SP is located in Chattanooga TN on Chickamauga Lake. This park has day-use facilities (picnics/recreation fields/docks) and group camp facilities. Attention depression era history buffs, if you are interested in the African American involvement in the CCC, you might find some pretty interesting tidbits in the office/visitors center. The park is in close proximity to all the Chattanooga attractions (Rock City, Ruby Falls, etc).
