national archives at denver

I used to do government research at the old site of this Archives when it was at the Federal Center, Denver, Colorado. They had older ladies who worked in the archives room and you could hire them to help you do research. Now we have Ancestry.com but it is still exciting to go to the actual documents. It might take you a time or two to learn the ropes of getting access and searching but you will find a treasure trove here. It is a little hard to find since Huron street stops at Hwy 7 and starts up again about a quarter mile east just by Hwy 25 going north.

The access to the records was difficult to find and the people working there acted like they not only didn't want to help, they didn't want to be there!! I was trying to find information that I couldn't access on Ancestry.com and decided that another visit is simply NOT worth it. I wish I could recommend it but the internet is better and much easier to use!
