Information, maps, displays of the history and interesting sites of the area are all available here.If you want to know what is going on or what to do or where to go this is a great place. There is adequate parking and even a place to walk your dog.

Nice selection of informative and free brochures arranged by geographic area (SW, NE, etc) in the state. Lots of ideas on where to go and what to do. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Attached restrooms were clean and there are places outside for a picnic. The roundabout at the freeway exit can be confusing and it is easy to make a mistake, but that's not the fault of the Welcome Center.

Very friendly folks that offer you a free coffee as you walk in the door, a nice welcome change from the busy gas station attendants and fast food workers that dominate the usual road trip stops. Amazing selection of very organized information pamphlets for all of Colorado. It is kind of a nice stop to browse for that attraction you might have missed on Trip Advisor or to get ideas for your next trip.

This welcome center has it all, easy access from I-70 & US 6&50, a huge lawn with picnic tables that give a great view of the CO National Monument, a place to walk the puppies, a dump station, and a building that has hot coffee, clean bathrooms, and tons of information about what CO has to offer for tourism. Free maps and lots of brochures plus info on road conditions and the locals who know some hidden gems. Look for coupons that can save some $$ on the trip too.

The state of Colorado does a good job of welcoming visitors, but this Fruita welcome center is a bit confusing to get to from the Interstate highway..... be careful driving in to it ....going around the traffic circles and curving roads will bring you to this small but friendly facility. Handicapped accessible, but the parking is a bit far from the building. and you cannot exit the parking lot by the way you came in...just follow the signs. The clean public restrooms are for most folks the first stop (open 24 hours) and the information section is only open in daylight hours. Helpful Welcome Center clerks will steer you to the right section and recommend specifics, if you ask, though they cannot make their specific preferences known. The brochures and printed information which line the walls and counters are free for the taking. Don't forget to get a free Colorado highway map...it's very helpful for those who know how to read a map, instead of Garmins or Tom Toms!....now.... which way am I going???;-)....that-a-way! ----->

Colorado is a state with an amazing diversity of things to do and see! Let an "expert" help with suggestions, printed literature, personal experiences and feedback from other travelers... You might not get to do it all this trip, but there is always next year.
