Heard about it, but never went. Now we wonder why we didn't go sooner. Our Grandkids loved it. The scavenger hunt makes them examine the displays in detail. We learned a great deal about railroads and were highly impressed with the detail in the displays and layouts. The staff and volunteers make it even better. A whole bunch or railroad hobbyists give guidance and explanations. Too much to see in one visit. However, even after hours of looking our young grandkids never got bored. We'll be back.

The most incredible model railroad museum in the world! You can spend an hour or a day looking at all the detail as the many trains pass through scenic American areas!

Seriously, if you haven't been to this place, you have to check it out. It's not just for train-nerds and kids. This place is incredible. I guarantee you will have a great experience as you walk through the many different scenes and, of course, checking out the actual-sized railroad artifacts -- including a real caboose.

Not something you would think about doing but well worth it. Especially great for the kids or grandkids. Well laid out with interactive exhibits.

In a freight shed along the tracks I Greeley is the Colorado Model Railway Museum and they're unbelievable layout. Having a chance to stop in on a Saturday was great as there were lots of trains running and dispatch was working as well. It was great to see the work put into this expansive layout. The detail is fantastic and everyone on site was very friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you have the chance.

If you are into model trains or have kids this is a great place to visit in Greeley, about an hour north of Denver. The indoor models of mountains, streams, little towns, and tunnels are huge and beautifully done. You could spend more than a day looking at the details. They give you a checklist of little things to look for which was fun. Unfortunately the day we were there they were having electrical problems and only a few trains were running so that was disappointing. But it is fun to see a train disappear into a tunnel and try to guess where it will emerge. Very reasonable admission.

We went to the model railroad museum this afternoon. They had 5 of the trains running on the display today which takes up the entire building. The train display is extremely intricate and detailed. There are awesome little vignettes of people in cities and in the country. There is so much to look at you could easily spend 2 or 3 hours here just watching the trains run, watching the coordination when trains pass each other and looking at all of the amazing detail. They also have a scavenger hunt game for the kids to find items in the train layout. This was a really fun afternoon and an absolute must-see for any train enthusiast. This is one of the best model train displays I have ever seen.
