I run up to Lair for a quick mountain bike ride when I want to get beyond the city and away. Trail is well maintained and good, easy start that gets you up quickly.

My daughter and I visited here for the first time on a Sat morning. We were fairly early so there was plenty of parking available in the lot but we have driven by many times to see the lot overflowing as this park seems to be extremely popular with mountain bikers, as well as others. We took the Bear Creek Trail which started on the end of the parking lot towards Evergreen. For about the first mile or so the trail follows the creek and is very flat and since you are right along the road you do hear traffic going by. The first bridge across the creek takes you up to the Bruin Bluff Trail but that is closed. As you go along this first section you will also pass Dunafon Castle on the other side of the creek. It is a private residence and very neat looking. You can hardly see it from the road as you drive to Evergreen but you get a good view of the back, with very nice grounds and a water wheel, as you walk along this trail. At the end of the flat portion of the walk the trail takes a hard left and heads up into the hills which takes you away from the road where it is more peaceful. From the map I guess the trail goes about 5 more miles and comes out on another road. We walked about a mile or so up this section where you can get some nice views. There were lots of people running, hiking and mountain biking on this trail. We spent a little over 2 hours hiking this trail. The restrooms at the parking area are pit toilets of course but the facilities were very clean and well cared for. There are numerous picnic tables and grill pits available for folks who want a cook out or picnic. This is a nice park and it seems to get a lot of use.

Just before Evergreen CO. Small but very nicely kept trails and lovely views. Get s up over 6,800 ft elevation. Dipper bridge still closed so have to loop back before crossing the creek

Always a great trail to hike when looking for something rather easy. We do this hike at least once or twice a year. My kids love it and so do I! My brother actually proposed to his wife on this trail so it's a special place for us. Oh, and very dog-friendly. Love the creekside too.

We visited on Saturday, July 26, 2014. We were staying in Morrison so this was a short drive up the road.Ample parking and nice walking paths. We walked toward the sound of the water. Tree lined creek/river with peace and quiet. The place is almost magical. Very nice deck that allows a nice close overlook into the water. Also, no steps on this easy to navigate walking path. Serene in nature.

Peaceful and serene, people bike, hike, and fish here. Several trail options for customized hikes. Definitely recommend

I loved how this hike follows the river. We went on the Bear Creek trail with our dog. Went off-trail a couple of times and ran into some snakes so went back. There are so many places to stop along the water. We saw people fishing, running, and biking. This place is 30 mins from Denver- I will definitely be back! We went on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. Be careful of cops along the way there- speed limits are low for a reason!

The Bruin trail is a nice hike to take with children. It's not too steep, and the kids of course like the Creekside trail! It's very beautiful. Drive time from Denver is about 30 minutes, which makes it a perfect hike if you have friends/family visiting from out of town and want to take them on a hike. Currently, Bruin trail access from the west Creekside trail is closed (I believe due to the prior flooding). The west Creek trail will just meander along the creek and is flat-as far as we went (over 30 minutes). If you want to get on the Bruin (overlook) trail, start out going east on the Creekside trail. You'll cross a bridge and will then start up the trail that will take you up the hill.
