We stopped by and LOVED the place. The staff was super friendly and even let us bring our two dogs on the patio to visit while we sipped wine and took in the beautiful weather and views. We ended up buying a few bottles, but wish now we had bought more. It's definitely a more upscale, clean and modern winery and we were worried perhaps the people wouldn't be so friendly, but were glad to say we were wrong. Everyone there stopped by to say hello and even pat our dogs on the head. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Lovely wine tasting stop. Amazing views inside, which is essentially an art gallery, and outside, which overlooks the hills. After tasting, order a glass of wine, go sit outside and just relish the view.

Azura is on the hillside above Paonia and has the feel of an Italian vineyard. There is a small selection of wines, but of a good quality. The wines and the view combine synergistically to enhance each other. The artwork and friendly dog are additional plusses.

Azura will make you feel you are somewhere else other than Paonia, Colorado. A very unique art gallery with an outdoor feel of and Italian Villa. We stopped for a wine tasting and were mesmerized by the view from the huge stone deck. When you walk down the steps from the parking area you enter a very cool courtyard that immediately transports you. The wine is pretty good but clearly a nice touch to the gallery. When we return, we will be bringing a lunch and sit out on the deck sitting wine and absorbing the incredible mountain views.

An afternoon spent relaxing with friends on the beautiful terrace overlooking the valley and pretending to be in Tuscany.

...in any order. They buy their grapes in Western Colorado and make delicious wines. See my post for more info: http://fairplay740.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/paonia-wine-weekend-june-2014-pt-iii-wines-and-wineries/

We remember your visit. It was 10 am and we were preparing for our 11 o'clock opening. We sometimes have visitors at off hours who come to enjoy our view so we left you undisturbed. We pride ourselves on offering a gracious reception to all of our guests. We sincerely apologize for not being more congenial. Please visit again when we are open and join us for a complimentary glass of wine.

Azura is a beautiful spot to stop while touring the wineries in the North Fork Valley. The wine is great, the gallery is beautiful, the owners (Ty & Helen) are gracious hosts and the view is spectacular!

Good wine and lovely place to sip outdoors! I bring my house guests here in the summer. The Tuscany design makes you feel you are really there.

Of all the superb farms and wineries you can visit in the area, this is the one not to miss. Ty and Helen have capitalized on a beautiful spot in every possible way: the art, the buildings, the wine, the gardening, their cheerful enthusiastic presence. I wasn't much of a wine drinker until a glass of their Riesling (on the patio, at sunset, with the owners and friends) changed my mind. I can't wait for it to be summer again so I can go back.

We just loved every minute here, the wine, views, gallery, and a friendly staff/owner, all were perfect. Just sitting outside and sipping wine you will feel like you have been transported to Europe. We tried the cheese and cracker plate too. When you visit, be sure to allow plenty of time to relax here, you will want to soak up the atmosphere.

We stopped by briefly with our family for a quick wine tasting, and to buy a couple bottles of wine. The owners were so nice and the property is amazingly beautiful! It is a place you MUST visit if you're in Paonia.

A fun hillside drive to a stone european dwelling on the side of a beautiful overlook across the Paonia mountains. Stone cottage for the owners who spent many years sailing the world in their yacht called "Azura" which is a Persian word for the clear blue sky. Stone winery for lovely tastings complete with a studio portraying the wonderful artifacts created by the owners as well... lovely patios with comfy seats and shades overlooking the lovely hillsides below down to a special lake where once a week in the evening, you may do wine tastings and race remote control miniature yachts! Free tastings as all are in the western Colorado world with nice products and prices. Gives you a most special thrill to find this Tuscan hideaway.

We participated in a winemaker's dinner on the grounds of Azura. It was intimate and special and it featured the Azura wines. We became fans and tend to buy a case per year. It is worth the price of one bottle to be able to see the views from this property and to meet the nice owners.
