I was so pleased with our recent trip to Crested Butte Mountain Resort. The ski school for the kids was top notch and it made skiers for life out of my 6 and 10 year old. Everyone that works for the resort was so friendly and helpful. We ate at several restaurants near the base and didn't have a bad meal. Some of my favorite times were sitting by the fire pit with a drink from 9380 Prime. The whole vibe of this resort is laid back and peaceful. I have truly fell in love with this place and will be back!

I signed up for the full day adult lesson for $175. Instructor was positive and encouraging throughout the morning. After lunch told the group that we all were on the team and needed to encourage each other. We were to make 4 turns then go to the lift. The instructor came to me in front of everyone else and said that he was passing me off to another instructor. He said that he wanted her to work with me on one thing before I go to the lift. It was clear she did not want to deal with me at all. She said two things to me and the another lady came to me and said they were passing me off to another person. My confidence is now shot and after 3 days still do not have the confidence to go up the slope. I feel cheated out of a 1/2 day instruction.

John Denver must have been here when he wrote that song. Wow!!. The base of the mountain is at 9,000 something feet and the peak is at 12,000 something feet. The views........ from everywhere, are awesome!!!! The lay out of the hill is good, as far as Colorado hills go...assuming there is snow and you are able to ski Everything. Unfortunately, this year the west is taking a beating and the snow cover is a tad bit thin,,,,,Colorado standards that is.Being from NH , everyone there kept asking...." Dude..why the H---- are you here skiing when all the snow this year is on the east coast.. ?? " Change of scenery does everyone good and scenery we got. Plus a taste of the old west was a cool experience for the entire family and you will defiantly get that with just a stroll down the main drag of Crested Butte. We were fortunate to receive an 18" dump the day we arrived and another 16" the day before we left, so.... there is still plenty of skiing left to be had at Crested Butte this year. Go ahead.....Rip it up in the Paradise bowl, on International , or if you and your new $1200 skis dare..... Rambo. Cheers !!

Had a wonderful week skiing at CB. 40" fresh pow in 4 days mixed with sunny days. The downtown has a great blend of cuisines and shops. Will be back

You hear the locals complaining constantly about is being SOOOO crowded as you ski up to get your lift ticket scanned and then get right on the lift without waiting in a lift line. How that counts as being crowded I have no idea. Crested Butte is by far my favorite ski town/mountain in Colorado. It is as outrageously priced as every other resort but at least they have a beautiful mountain and almost never a crowd.

The mountain offers runs for all skill levels! Their signage on the mountain is exceptional, making it difficult to get lost and if that we're not enough, you can almost always find a guide somewhere to help. We also loved that they had 'action shot ' locations around the mountain where they had personnel taking photos. It's nice as we all know it can be impossible to get photos, so it was a nice feature for those who like to scrapbook! The varying terrain was the absolute best, I am an advanced skier but my significant other was at an expert level. There was something for both of us and it wasn't crazily segregated either so we could always meet back up easily without having to go to different parts of the mountain. There also was good places you could cut in and out of trees, which is always a blast! We never experienced long lift lines and there were lots of lifts to get you anywhere! The town is lacking a bit, but you can tell it is more of a local ski resort then a super commercialized one, so really cannot complain. We did not experience any so called 'party kids' everywhere. In fact we are 24 & 26 and have met VERY few people our age with the exception of those who work the resort. This is the closest ski resort tithe college in Gunnison, of course they would visit here. We've met lots of super friendly adults of all ages and families! The staff everywhere we have gone, including in the town, have been very friendly and helpful! They also have great resources for finding activities, events, and recommendations in the are and surrounding areas. We spent 6 days here and loved it, we would definitely make the 5 hr drive from our home in Northern Colorado to visit again! Would bring my family here once I have one

Not a great mountain to ski, and the people who live there seem to be a bunch of coked out college style kids, so if your looking for a party then you'll love it, if not don't go. And for some reason the town is not the friendliest place i've been too, not by far...

While I haven't been skiing all over the world or even all over CO for that matter, my family and I love going to CB. I love the beauty of the location, the relative ease to get to from DFW and the short short lines. Snow has always been excellent and we have always enjoyed our trips to CB. I highly recommend it.

There was such a variety of terrain on the slopes. It was so much fun and it felt like you could go up the same lift all day and never take the same run down. You could also go in and out of the trees quite a bit. I am a new snowboarder and ok at keeping up my momentum now but I think brand new boarders might have trouble getting stuck as even on the blue runs there were the occasional flat spots.

I am a seasoned skiier and CB stacks right up there in terms of variety of trails, conditions, and friendliness of the locals and service staff. I was in a large group and many of us agreed that the signage leaves much to be desired when you are first learning the mountain. The trail map doesn't always match what you expect to see where. More signage at the tops of the "secondary" lifts would be helpful. No matter who I asked, though, I was always given a friendly reply. The shop owners, the lifties, the food service staff, the bus drivers, the hotel staff - everyone has a super-friendly and welcoming attitude. Made our vacation extra nice. We can't wait to come back to Crested Butte.

Staff was friendly and efficient. Everything worked like a charm. Mountain shops always a pleasure. This was our third or fourth trip and we plan to go again.

If you are lucky enough to catch this mountain with powder, then you should offer a sacrifice to the ski gods 'cause I had a great time with no new snow for weeks! Take a little hike at the top, it's rewarding.Rode here on the mountain bike trails....it compete with Fruita for my attention. The town makes it all good...even snowless winter days. The food, drink and charm makes CB the complete package!

Though there could have been more snow in the black diamond areas the blue sky and sunshine was awesome. The Bloody Mary's at Paradise Warming House are the BEST!

I almost don't want to tell you how great this place is. But I will. Almost no lift lines, incredible terrain for all levels, mountain vistas everywhere you look, and a laid back, mellow vibe that most ski areas haven't had for decades. Crested Butte, how I love you! The skiing was amazing, the kids said they loved the terrain parks (they snowboard), and the mountain was so easy to navigate. A perfect ski vacation. Now don't tell anyone I told you.
