We mostly skied, but on a day we chose not to ski this was a fun place to come and ice skate - and toboggan out back, although the toboggan slope wasn't overly challenging or fast for teenagers.

We were directly to the Aspen Rec Center to take our kids and grandkids sledding. What a beautiful place this is. Such a great asset to the town of Aspen. We had just received over a foot of fresh snow so downhill sledding was way too hard for a 4 and 5 year old but just being in this beautiful spot was worth it. People were friendly and helpful. Loved the idea of this place.

My children love this place, lots of activities but their favorites are the pool and climbing wall. Pool can get crowded and sometimes the lifeguards are indifferent to the big kids walking on the little ones. This is best for kids up to about 15 or so. After that, they might be frustrated with all of the little ones.

The most civilized and beautiful recreation center I have seen. How I would have enjoyed being a young kid growing up in Aspen. Indoor pool, indoor gym and all the refuge for those who want to be out of the cold. But for those with sub-10 year old children just wanting to sled on snow, there's an incredible slope in the back that will PROVE you still have a kid inside of you. DO IT!!!!

We love the ARC! A family trip there for swimming is on our weekly to-do list. The staff there is great and the facilities are always clean.

I brought my daughter here as a surprise and we had a ball. She rock climbed for about an hour and the staff, Jerrod, was very helpful and great with all the kids. Ice skating was next and if you have your own skates, I'd advise you to bring them. We again had a great time until a face plant. Helmets recommended:) Swimming...loved it. Diving board, waterslide, hot tub, lazy river. Had a lot of fun. If you're looking for a day activity if the weather isn't great, this is where you should go.

Absolutely love this place. A little pricey for a day pass, but you do get to enjoy all that is on offer - fantastic pool for kids play or lane swimming, jacuzzi, sauna, climbing wall included in price and some ice skating. Make a day of it, although limited food options on site. You can come and go, so jump on a bus up to Highlands for lunch or back into town and then return later. Definitely recommend.

One of the reasons I love ARC is their pool. Large and windows so you do not feel enclosed. Plus if you are a Masters Swimmer like me on Mondays and Thursdays they have Masters sessions at 6pm. There is a large kids pool that kids love, love, love. Ice skating rink too! Best recreation center I have ever seen.

We needed a day off from the slopes and the kids wanted to play. The Rec Center has an awesome pool for kids - they swam for hours, did the rock climbing wall - and I got to go work out. That was great!

Just what I was looking for, with great facilities. I snuck in for the final 90 minutes before closing when entry + towel rental is just $10. Nice gym, free yoga, excellent sauna, steam room and pool.

I have been coming to Aspen for 4 years and every year I bring my kids, aged 6 and 8, to the Rec Center. They LOVE it. They spend the whole day here, swimming in the pools, riding the slide, and ringing the bell at the top of the climbing wall. It is a highlight of their visit to Aspen each year. Unfortunately we can only afford to visit it once each vacation. We are not your "average" visitor to Aspen, in fact we are a single income family from Australia who save all year to come for a 3 week stay every February. At $70US for a one day visit this is a treat for us and it upsets me that if I were a "local" I would get a much reduced entry fee, and my children & I could visit more often while Daddy snowboards. Whenever I am asked if I am a "local" it leaves me feeling really disappointed that as a tourist I am charged so much more.

Beautiful view, close to the city and cheap equipment rentals. If your kids are not ready for skiing, try this place (take your camera).

This is a great place for locals! I have a membership here it is great! Best gym and and rec center inhave never seen. They have a huge pool and great pool for kids on the side. And it also has a waterside, lazy river, and Jacuzzi. They have alot of actives to do. And also classes everyday you just have to check at the front desk to see what there is that day. Nice and clean place love it!
