We have gone here twice and it is a wonderful way to spend the day. We stayed in Lake George so it's a little bit of a drive but totally worth it. They have wheelchairs available for your use which we needed and most exhibits were accessible. There is so much history and information as well as hands on exhibits for the kids. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed walking around to see it all. The gift shop is nice & there is a little grill restaurant to grab a snack. My kids enjoyed feeding the fish, playing in the camp gear and trying to build the mini Adirondack chairs in the pavilion. We also loved the train exhibit as well as all the other exhibits about life in that areaG. This is definitely worth checking out!!

Insight back in time. The way the Adirondacks came to be. From lean tos to boats and trains. All you could imagine and then some. Spectacular views outside.

The ADK museum is very interesting. You feel like you are going back in time! I've been there 4 times and you learn something new about ADK everytime. They also have a great gift shop! And don't miss the trout pond its very cool. It makes a great day adventure after a long mountain climb the day before:)

Take a whole day to see the many buildings here: lots of historical exhibits showing loggers lifestyles, train info., a boat museum, coaches, walk through an elegant train, hand made furnishings, log cabins, tent living, on a small pond, well worth the price. LOTS of walking. Go early in the day, as you'll be exhausted later on. Great for families and/or couples/singles. Has a neat gift shop. Bring your camera: much to see and learn.

One can't appreciate the extraordinary quality of this museum until it's experienced in person. "The Smithsonian of the Adirondacks" is an understatement. The exhibits are displayed with an outstanding eye to visual appeal. Many buildings, needing many hours.

An excellent museum with both outdoor and indoor aspects, also a fantastic view over the lake. It gives a detailed insight into Adirondack history, the lives of people in the lumber trade, the early tourists and culture, but manages to be really enjoyable too. Good kids activities. We combined with a visit to Great Sagamore Camp.

We arrived here at opening time, and stayed until closing time. Fantastic and interesting displays in multiple buildings that went on and on! An audio guide is included with the price of admission, and offers more in-depth information when desired. The admission price also includes a second day return visit. This museum had been recommended by a friend as a "must see" when visiting the Adirondack region. We were overwhelmingly impressed.

During a girls trip to Schroon Lake we spent 1 day at the museum. We all went different directions, taking in what we wanted and then met up at the cafe. Great information, great guided tours and a full day to explore. They even let you bring in your own cooler/lunch and have a set of picnic tables near the entrance to enjoy your packed goodies.

You could easily allocate several hours to enjoy the many facets of this museum. We had limited time and chose the logging industry, railroad and carriage era and rustic furnishing exhibit buildings. All had excellent representations and an abundance of historical depictions and explanations. Well worth the time.

Such a beautiful spot and the trees had not even turned yet. Museum relatively new, with great displays and information. We were there in Sept. The weather was spectacular and the view of Blue Lake is amazing. Great for families as they had interactive displays for kids. We learned a lot about the settling and growth of the area. If you stay out side of the small town there is very little ambient light and the stars were incredible.

The Adirondack Museum is a great family attraction. There are many buildings with local history with many hands on items for children as well as adults alike. Although the ticket was a 2 day pass we were able to see it all in one day.

This is a stop that is well worth the time. Beautiful views of the lake from the Café! Lots of buildings to go in and look and learn about the region. Should have several hours to spend here.

We go to Blue Mountaim Lake yearly on business where we participate in an antique show at the Adirondack Museum. Since we are there for four days, we have the opportunity to visit the museum displays. They are fantastic and well worth a trip to the area. They give you a real sense of what life was and is like in the region. There is a very nice gift shop and a cafe with spectacular views of the lake.
