While traveling with our family, we stopped at this local attraction. Really a great place for kids. Nice trails to hike. Nice exhibits with both hands on and visual interaction . Picnic facilities are available and during the Summer daily educational programs are done at 1PM. Price? How about $5 per car?

Our family of four (2 teens)went on the full moon hike on July 12, 2014. Our guide led our group of the 9 of us that showed up, and was super informative, full of facts about the farm and the moon. Before hiking, we explored the active pond full of frogs which were quite vocal, and saw the enclosed butterfly exhibit. We began by hiking up a mountain, which I would describe as wooded, but mild as far as hikes go, definitely wear sneakers. Peter, our guide had us stop at intervals to discuss our surroundings as it gradually got darker. He was wonderful, answering all of our questions and really seemed interested in showing us everything he could. We made it to the top in about 30 minutes, and even though it was cloudy, the moon did make it's glorious appearance and stunned us all by its beauty as it rose over a gorgeous setting with Lake George in full sight. Please bring bug spray to this location. Lots of Mosquitos biting! Worth the hike!

A very nice environmental education center set up for kids and adults alike. Easy to access, things to touch, much to learn, helpful staff.

We have been here numerous times, they have recently added a bee hive that you can see in to. Kids love the area and the view from the top of the nature trail is gorgeous. What a great way to spend the day with your family.

We took a stroll around the grounds and visited the butteryfly area. There is a building with a live bee hive and another with taxidermy animals of the area. The kids liked it - a pleasant way to pass a couple of hours.
