There are multiple parks and carousels in Binghampton, and we visited 3 of the carousels. The one at the zoo needs some TLC, but the other parks the carousels are beautiful and remind me of a time when things were less complicated and fun.

disappointing plus there was a street fair - hard to get to the park but I've heard this is a really good carousel. Rest of the park seemed safe and good for dog walking.

We were in town for the night and learned of this attraction on Tripadvisor. What a great service to the community to have a FREE carousel in a park! My family rode it four times and we would have stayed longer if we had the time. The staff was very friendly. Highly recommend if you have kids and are in the area!

My ten-year-old granddaughter loves the carousel here. She usually rides several of the horses over the course of each visit. There's also swings, playground equipment for older children as well as a smaller version for toddlers. There's a spray park in summer months, to cool off. They also have restrooms which were renently remodeled.

Very clean. A must see for children of all ages. I took my 4 children and they had a blast. A great lesson in history.

All of the Carousels in the area are free - there are 6 and they are all fun. If you ride all 6 you get a button. The park itself is small but go for the ride.

The carousel in this park has been recently renovated and they added a very nice (small, but free) spray playground. This park also has a small but decent playground. Other parts of this park are in the process of being renovated--during the summer a sign said that the restrooms were going to be redone in the fall. It is also across the street from the new Walmart. This park is definitely worth a visit in the summer when the carousel and the spray park are open.

I also have parents who grew up in Johnson City. Both of my grandparents worked at the shoe factory. We used to go up there every summer. What at wonderful time that was. The park was out of this world! It was a big park! It had all kinds of rides, a huge swimming pool, the merry go round, etc. We had a ball! I recently went up there again after 40 years and found the park to be destroyed. The nice rides were taken out. A bad basketball court in the middle of everything. I could not believe how they destroyed that park. It was so sad, really, really sad! Shame on Johnson City for allowing this to happen. But the merry go round was still nice. It just didn't have all the nice music that it used to have. Also, hardly anyone was there. It used to be jammed packed full of people. Maybe if they stepped up the music more people would come.

My Dad grew up in Johnson City, my grandparents worked at the shoe factory. We visited JC every summer when I was a kid the carousel was always my favorite (greene's field pool was another favorite! and the little shops on Harry L. Dr. where I would buy candy) Those were the days!

One of six working carousels in the region given by George F. Johnson, this is the largest 72 animal carousel. Patrons can ride for free. This carousel was made in 1923 it is in very good condition. This is the most decorative of the carousels in the region. It has original scenic panels and beveled mirrors. Carousel enthusiasts will enjoy the visit as will small children. Take time to examine the horses and admire the detail in them. The carousel is in a small park. There is not much other than a basketball court. Each carousel in the circuit has a collectors card for riders. Collect all 6 and trade them in for a button. It is suggested to start with West Endicott Park carousel and work your way east, ending at the Ross Park carousel. You can get a special treat for your button at the carousel shop.
