Happened to stumble upon a tour that was offered through the maritime museum and me and a friend went. It was great and very informative. They even let us check out the basement because we were curious how it was set up on the water. They did temporarily stop tours but keep checking because they will probably offer them again. The lighthouse itself is beautiful. The staircase was my favorite. If you want to check out the light at the top you need to be nimble and not afraid of heights but its a great view from there. They even had a gift shop they created in one of the bedrooms.

We saw the light from a river tour, there was no direct access to the light house. the boat that took people out to the light house stopped running last year

Being April, the boats weren't running yet, but we went down North Avenue, made a turn at the Mill & then walked a short path to a view of the lighthouse. Afterwards, we went across the bridge to view the other side of the lighthouse from the Amtrak Station over in Rhinebeck - also worth the trip if you love lighthouses.

We went with a bunch of friends who won a prize at a silent auction for 50 people on a boat trip that included drinks and dinner delivered to us at the lighthouse on a gorgeous summer night. Total blast. Very historical !

I pass this each trip down the Rondout Creek. It reminds me of times gone by. A great restored lighthouse.

When in this area, it is well worth the half-mile walk out to the lighthouse site. If you want to actually go into the lighthouse, visit on weekends or call for an appointment.

It depends on which way you are going. The Lighthouse marks the entrance to the Rondout Creek and Downtown Kingston for The Maritime Museum or great restaurants when coming in from the Hudson River, A nice, old lighthouse.

Place is on the water and you have to take a tender to reach it. Oak furniture inside harkens back to an era when Lighthouses were used and necessary. This lighthouse history is interesting and very much a part of the history of the Hudson River itself

Its a great Hudson River Landmark that warrants a visit or a paddleby.

The Roundout Lighthouse is visible from the shore and also from the rip van winkle river boat tour. The tour is a wonderful tour down the Hudson river. A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours and learn about the Hudson River and some of the residents that lived along the river.

the kingston lighthouse is beautiful, it's on the rondout creek, where the rondout meets the hudson river. you can only get there by boat.
