Overlooking Lake Ontario, Krull Park has a lot to offer. It is a 325 acre year round park that is open from 7am to 9pm. The park offers, picnic tables, shelters, 5 softball diamonds, a soccer field with shelters, a band shelter, a splash park, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, 2 playgrounds, tennis courts, a volleyball court, a model airplane field, 5 restrooms, 2 ice rinks, a warming house (with picnic tables, restrooms, and vending machines). To top it off (or would it be bottom it off???) you go down a flight of stone steps to the lake where you will find a sandy beach (not too large) where from Memorial Day through September (12pm to 7pm) you can go swimming (guarded area only, weather-permitting). I know there are rental fees for the shelters but I don't know if there are fees for any other of the facilities. The beach was free and handicapped accessible if you are willing to go down a rather steep, rough road. There are several festivals held there each year. We were last there for the Pirates Festival in July and may attend the Celtic Festival this month (Sept.).
