My family loves The Strand in Old Forge. We recently enjoyed the movie Unbroken there. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is retro.As dog lovers, we especially enjoy the resident dog- a cute Siberian Husky. As theater patrons file out, this sweet dog files in to enjoy the popcorn that has been dropped on the floor.It is hard to imagine how or why any visitor would not enjoy taking in movie at Old Forge's Strand.

It has it's own little museum of film. Wonderful enthusiastic owners. New up todate films. A alternative choice of entertainment from the usual mountain offerings.

Love Noel the movie dog! Theater has 4 screens with new movies. Located in downtown Old Forge. Very reasonable ticket prices.

Old time movie theater but in better condition than some found in the big cities. Great display of antique movie equipment. Price was unbelievably affordable.

This is a great old theatre!! The hallways actually serve as a museum of old theatre memorabilia! Very, very interesting and I would highly recommend stopping inside to have a look around! Even if you aren't going to see a movie, step inside and have a look! If you have young children with you, it might be one of the last chances for them to see a glimpse of an era long gone by!

I'm so glad it rained while we were in Old Forge or else we would have missed this!! The theatre has great atmosphere!! And the prices were very reasonable. I'm pretty sure that even if it doesn't rain on our next trip, we'll definitely make a visit to The Strand!

Recently spent the day in Old Forge and visited The Strand theatre. My tween daughter wanted to see "If I Stay.". It was a beautiful late summer day but we decided to go to the 1:30 showing anyways. The theatre room we were in was quaint(seats 36) but the picture and sound were 1st rate! The Strand is a throw back and so cool! The owner even went and found the movie poster for us to buy! We will definitely make it a yearly event when we are in the Adirondacks at our camp and looking for something to do! Don't miss it!

What a great movie-going experience. The theater owners greet you and sell you tickets and popcorn when you arrive. The main theater is an awesome renovated art deco theater, and the secondary screens are modern and comfortable. don't miss the experience!

Old time nostalgic theater with first run movies, has many artifacts from past days, very reasonable rates, very nice.

This is a great little movie theater. They show first run movies for a reasonable price. Being inside took me back to my youth with old fashioned seats (comfortable ones) old retro style decorations and concessions. But a top notch sound system and picture image. It was a great way to spend a rainy night.

This is probably my favoriate movie theater. The prices are low and the concession stand is reasonable. The inside is very attractive with many visual displays. They did a lot of upgrades recently to the theater. Unlike other theaters that charge extra for 3-D films, The Strand does not raise its price.

I have been here twice now, and still yet again was excited to go there. There is a special feeling you get when you are there. Like others comment, the nostalgia, museum pieces, staff, and popcorn are all awesome.

The price is fantastic for tickets and snacks! It is a great place! It has a museum feel too. The owners are so friendly and really have care for this theatre. It shows:)

This is the best theatre I have ever been to. And the owners of that place are so nice and their dog is so cute. I love that place! When i lived there i used to go there with my friends...but take some warm clothes wtih you cuz it's pretty chilling inside
