1/2 ton's bar & grill

I had the Tons burger. Awesome burger, one of the best I have ever had. Mushrooms, bacon, swiss, and very good meat cooked just right.The service is also very good. The atmosphere is decent also. Beer selection? Well, that is why this place doesn't get a five. No draft beer at all. And what they have in bottle is strictly pedestrian. And that might be being kind.But if you want a good burger in Potsdam? Or maybe anywhere-this is the place. Hands down,

My friends and I met for lunch at 1/2 Ton's; it's a relatively new restaurant. The restaurant part is small, maybe 10 tables and then there's a separated bar area - there's tables on that side too. The day we went we met at 11:45 am for lunch and three of the tables were already taken. We sat ourselves and waited a good 5 minutes for acknowledgement. I don't blame the waitress as there seemed to only be one. Once she got to us the service moved along. I had a buffalo wing chicken wrap and I have to say it was delicious. The blue cheese and the buffalo sauce was just enough to flavor the fillings inside but it wasn't gooshing out the bottom. The fries were good too. One friend had a blue burger (hamburger with blue cheese) and it was rather large - maybe a 7 oz before grilling. He enjoyed it; said it was cooked to his liking and had a good flavor. My other friend had a roast beef club sandwhich. It was huge when it came out and had roast beef, bacon, tomatoes, and lettuce. Unfortunately she didn't like the taste of the roast beef - just didn't taste right. She had the chance to say something to the waitress once but chose not to; took the meat off and ate the BLT that was left. At the end, she did suggest that the cook taste the roast beef because it just didn't taste right. Not that my friend was expecting anything in return but the waitress could have taken a few $'s off the bill since all the beef was piled high on the corner of the plate so obviously it wasn't good. But she didn't. Regardless, it was a good place to eat, I would try it again because my wrap was delicious. I wouldn't go if your pressed for time - it may be fast, it may be slow. At least it gives the community another option for dining out!
