It was my husband's birthday, so we stopped in for a drink. The place has an appealing log cabin exterior, reminiscent of the old roadhouses. The seats at the bar were nearly full, but we found a couple at the end of the bar. The barmaid was extremely friendly, fast, and made a mean whiskey sour (hey, I didn't say that I was cool, just the bar). We got to meet Bob, a former local who had returned for his class reunion, who immediately selected my hubby as his BFF. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner, "Beard" the next day and he showed us some great bike routes. The beer selection is pretty standard, with a couple of local beers on draft. The liquor selection is more than you'd expect from a biker bar. The view out the front door is spectacular, and why shouldn't you have a beer or two after watching a great blue heron striding through Simon Pond?
