My husband and I live in this part of New York state and what we consider to be a high quality of life here is dependent on the availability and excellence of local food products. We both love to cook and there is nothing as satisfying as starting with really good ingredients that come from farmers we know by name who live and work nearby. If you are used to Farmers' Markets in urban areas it will seem like a small market, and it is, but there is so much variety and such high quality goods available at the Cooperstown Farmers' Market that it is perfect for us. The staples we depend on include: locally produced meat from several farms that is truly the best you can get anywhere, cured meat products, amazing cheeses, eggs, herbal tea, honey, award winning maple syrup and sugar, ALL the fresh produce, herbs, pickles, spicy mustard! ... Occasionally we also indulge in a gorgeous flower bouquet, a homemade pie, or some other wonderful treat that's irresistible... I can't say enough good about the farmers and makers who run stands at the market. Every single one produces excellent products of one kind or another. I do wish someone sold butter...
