A little history and a lot of neat items to see. It was a really fun little stop when you need something to do.

Great place to visit with wonderful volunteers and moving history. I went there for the annual night photo shoot and had a tremendous time.

I have visited this outstanding museum many times over the past 30 years and am always transported to early 1900 USA when public transportation was king! Before the advent of the auto and interstates, trolleys were clean, fast and usually safe for millions of riders. This museum is a constant reminder that new technology is not always better and sometimes worse! The collection and staff are excellent.

totally unexpected! we passed this and turned around and went back to check it out. 3hours later, we both agreed that aside from Maine lobster, it was the highlight of the trip. It is amazing what dedication the members have to the collection and restoration of trollies and old buses. The place was a riot of color and things to explore. You could pretty much walk everywhere and take multiple trolley rides if you wanted. The commentary was both informational and funny. A bit of Americana that we have forgotten about or take for granted, we learned quite a bit and were in awe of the daunting task of restoring these old beauties from all over the world AND maintain the buildings and property. For a photographer, it is heaven, plan to spend an entire day, my photos were rushed because we had a destination we had to reach. We got the senior rate of $8 each. Make sure you catch a cute photo in the ticket booth. Seriously thinking of membership. Carmel apples for sale and coffee, .50 a cup

The trolley museum is located about three miles from Kennebunkport and is situated on land donated to the museum specifically so that the history and knowledge of the use of trolleys can be retained. The museum is funded by visitors and run, predominantly, by volunteers. As a result, the museum is not a slick and sterile place; it is a work in progress and all the more interesting for this! The trolleys (or trams as we tend to call them in Europe) were all originally in use throughout the US and have been saved - and restored - through the efforts of the volunteers. The volunteers are also the people that drive the trolleys and impart information about the work that has been done to date and what is planned. This place is ideal for both adults and children, with different components (trolley ride, visitor centre, workshops) on offer and is a fun and enjoyable place to visit.

Not really into trams, but I have to say I really enjoyed this place. The Staff were friendly and very heplful. There is a Trolley (Tram) ride as part of your ticket price. The Drivers were very nice and quite funny. There are several large sheds to look around including and restoration Shed. They are currently restoring an old Blackpool Tram. The gift shop is very good and not to pricey. Would come again but maybe in Summer. thank you.

I visited several times over the years, most recently with my seven year old grandson. I will admit that we are both partial to trains, and train related activities. We had a great time, had a private tour and trolley ride, 1 1/2 hours long for no extra charge. Access to all kinds of equipmet is excellent, staff are wonderfull. If you like things mechanical, do not miss.

If you are in the Kennebunk area of Maine, stop over to the trolley museum. This little gem is nestled in the Kennebunkport area and could easily be driven by if you are not watching for it. It's a great museum and history of trolley history from the US and Canada. The best part is the restored and working trolley's that you can go for a great guided ride on. Fun for all ages and well worth the trolley ride fee. I would make the stop!

What a great tour we had today with funny driver Jack. He kept us laughing but boy did we learn a lot about the area and saw some wonderful sites! Thanks Jack

We had a great time at the museum. Staff is very friendly and have a lot of information to share with the visitors. Great to have the chance to ride those historical vehicles from the US and Canada. It would be great if they had the money to resort and maintain more of them. A lot of trains are left on the site rusting... which is a little sad. They do their best with what the have I guess. We will be back if we ever come back to Kennebunkport!

My wife suggested to stop here was a bit reluctant but she was right; well worth the time to see. Some dedicated and very knowledgeable staff who give a great tour on a restored trolley. Take some time to walk the grounds; they have so many trolleys, subway cars, busses and other pieces; many more than they have finding to restore.

Fair admission prices - clean - interesting and preserving a piece of America's history! Think I may have been on one of those NY cars at one time and our 3-yr-old grandson had a great time climbing on the others! Husband admired the craftsmanship of those who were refurbishing! Worth seeing and supporting!

Take the 45 tour with the knowledgable and likeable Ed. Great way to see important landmarks and you can hop on and off at any stop all day.

We read about this museum in our AAA travel guide and decided to give it a shot. After purchasing the entry ticket ( $8.00 for seniors ) you go out to the depot and either wait for the next trolley or wander around checking out everything close by. And there is a lot of everything. Trolleys, buses and so much more. You can even book your wedding on a trolley. The trolley ride goes about a mile and half down the tracks before stopping. This is where the conductors tell the story of this museum, then you head back to the depot. You can stop short of the depot and ride a different trolley over to a hanger filled with restored trolleys or walk to the the hangers. One of the hangers has several trolleys in it that are in different stages of restoration. This is a very interesting museum. They only have 4 paid employees and everyone else is a volunteer!! Be sure and checkout the advertising in the restored trolleys. If you like old transportation then this is a great stop. There is a gift store filled with mementos.

This was one museum that our toddler and we liked as well. The trolley ride was fun and the operators were so informative about the height of trolley use in history. The mechanic in the workshop where you could watch them restoring cars was knowledgeable and answered every question. Walking through the old trolleys was really fun. The inside museum was informative with a kid area to play on a train table. The gift shop is outstanding with alot of trolley toys/gear you can't find other places.
