Step Falls is located just off the main road, and is an easy hike in for nearly anyone. The hike is only 20-30 minutes, and offers beautiful views the entire way.

On our way to Bethel, Me. we decided to take a look at Step Falls, which is just outside Grafton Notch State Park. On Hwy.26. Turn Right toward's Newry, Me. Drive about four to five miles, and you will see a white building with a large grassy area on the right. Just beyond this, there is a dirt track with a small car park. No fee to park the car or use the trail. There is a placard, that tells you about the trail and falls, at the entrance to the trail. It's about a 15 to 20 min. short hike, thru. the woods. Walking shoe's/boots would be best to wear, as it's unevan ground. Take your camera, as you'll get some good shots of the falls. Well worth the short hike. Kids will love this attraction, as you can walk and paddle in the rock pool's. Make the effort to walk to the top of the falls, great view's.
