This is a definite MUST for a great day on the beach. Soft sand, clean rest rooms and shower facilities. Plenty of parking. Also enjoy the nature trails.

This is not a large state park but great walking trails of which one leads to a gorgeous beach. There are picnic table, restrooms and a nature center. It's a bit of a walk from where you park to the actual beach but worth the walk! There is a small fee.

Ferry Beach State park is part of the Maine State Park system. It is very clean & well maintained. There are rest rooms on the premises as well as plenty of parking. Walk to the beach which is not rocky. Mostly sand.

the gps direction were wrong so make sure you put in the country club address and take it from there, very clean and not crowded, there were some canoes maybe for rent but not sure

We really enjoy ferry beach for a few reasons. It is less crowded than old orchard beach. Even on the busier days, it is still not bad at all. The walk is a little long but the walkway is awesome. You are not walking in sand until you hit the beach. Bathrooms are ok. Parking is usually very good. Great area for picniking in the shade with little grills and picnic tables. By far, one of the places we visit often in the summer months. It cost a small fee of 4 dollars to get in. We purchased a state park pass and this is one of the parks on the list of many that allows you in for free with the pass. We love the pass. If my husband and I are working, you can pass it on to your family and friends. Everyone in the car gets in for free. Great investment.

It is a nice nature park with trails and a path to the beach. There is a lot of parking space with, if you are lucky you can be in the shade. The only thing is that there is a long walk to the beautiful beach that is never very crowdy.

In addition to the great gravel paths for strolling or biking, you can get to a wonderful sandy beach that goes for miles and miles. Great place to get in the calm water and swim, or walk during the beautiful sunsets. There is a day use fee IF you park in the state park parking lot. If you park somewhere else the beach, of course, is free as it should be.

I went there for a picnic that was being held an organization I'm a member of. My warning is to find out ahead of time if there ia an event planned at the park. We filled the parking lot and the park had to start turning people away. I didn't make it to the beach but I've been there in the past and liked it. It's a few blocks from the parking area but it's worth it for a nice sand beach. There are picnic tables and rustic grills available. Don't bring beer/wine or booze. No glass bottles and smoke only in smoking areas. Water fountain/faucet is available in picnic area. Bathrooms at end of parking lot. There are a few flat dirt short trails in the forest area off the parking lot and longer ones off the access road before you get to the parking area so you can hike for free but there is not parking there. You will be waling in Maine. INSECT REPELLENT !. Admission to the park is $4.00 for adults Kids $? but less. Pay cash in singles and you'll have a friend at the gate.

Great family beach. Shallow water, deep beach at low tide. Free, off street parking next to beach entrance as well as across the street. Dog friendly as well. Miles and miles of scenic beauty. Many great afternoons spent there

Lovely Beach in Saco ME, nice and clean, easy access. Close to several other venues. Quiet in the evenings - nice to walk or run

The islands break up the waves which makes this place a favorite spot for my family. The shallow waters make the cold Maine water more tolerable.

this beach is so big is does not get over crowded, it has easy access but is a bit of a walk if walking is an issue for you.

This woodsy, 117-acre (47.3-ha) state park is on ME 9, yet it still felt like it was well off the beaten path. Its white sandy beaches do get crowded on finer summer days, but a cloudy sky kept many away. On most days, the entire park is quieter than Old Orchard, Pine Point, and other tourist-magnet beaches in the area. The park’s easy, 1.7-mile (2.7-km) network of walking trails rewarded exploration. An info kiosk and restrooms were near the trailhead parking. Two short trails crossed predominantly oak forests. One trail crossed a tupelo swamp on a boardwalk into a big grove of rare tupelo trees as well as blueberry bushes. And two other short trails traversed cool woods with pine and hemlock trees. Trail surfaces were compact dirt, gravel, and crushed rock, as well as occasional planks. The park also had a shaded picnic area and grills – great for family outings. As is the case on all public beaches in Maine, no smoking was allowed. The day-use entrance fee was only $4 for an in-state resident. Parking was ample, but gets scarce fast on peak summer days. Be sure to bring bug dope, sunscreen, and a camera!
