moxie outdoor adventures - day adventures

Moxie has been around for decades, so I really have no idea why there is no other listing for them. Our family of four had a great time in mid-August doing the all day rafting trip in the Kennebec. Our guide was Billy, who was very experienced. He was also a lot of fun and he put us at ease immediately. Our group was made up of 4 young teens, an older lady, and us, in our late 40's. I was very nervous, as I have a balance issue and I knew the older lady was also nervous. Billy was so experienced and calm that we relaxed right away. Needless the say, the rapids were great fun and we never felt in danger. I loved the rapids but I also loved just cruising along the gorgeous river. Billy told us all kinds of great tales and facts about everything we saw. Half way through the day we pulled up to a little island and the crew miraculously fixed a giant and filling lunch for all 35 rafters. They also whipped up a few roaring fires to help us warm up. Even though we rented wet suits, and the water was truly warm, 75F, we did eventually feel cold. Once the sun came out later though, we warmed up again. I thought Moxie was by far the best choice of the various companies we looked at. Their price was the best, the food on the river (not offered by all companies) was great, the skill of the crew was professional, and everything about Moxie was perfect. Even the basic cabin we stayed in was comfortable and great value. I HIGHLY recommend using this company for your Maine rafting adventure.
