The tour of this incredible home was the highlight of our trip to Providence/Newport/Cape Cod! Anne, the owner of the home, is lovely, gracious, and pleased to share her home's history. Wayne, tour guide extraordinaire, kept us enthralled from the first room until the last. His knowledge of history, architecture, and design kept us captivated throughout the tour. This historical home with so many original pieces is simply a must see.

Like a living time capsule, this place speaks for itself. Sometimes being unable to throw anything away turns into a good thing as it is here. Most of the fixtures and fittings are original and well-loved.Well worth a visit to step back in time.

Wow!! Glad I found this place. It is a home from the 1870's. When I called to set up a visit, I was the only one going, and they did not have any other tours going on for me to join, but they insisted I come out anyway. Very impressive! I had a private tour which lasted at least and hour and a half, and they only charge $12. Worth so much more!So amazing to see the original furniture, flooring, drapes, etc up close! Wayne was amazing!! I'm not a huge history/museum person, but this is not your typical museum! And Wayne was not your typical docent! He had so much history to tell, and he seemed so excited about it and he was amazing to listen and talk to! No boring push the button at the exhibit to hear the history, and stand behind the fuzzy red blockades to see things from a distance. You could see everything up close, even sit on the furniture. If you are out this direction, don't miss this place! I would go back to this place over and over!

I visited this wonderful family home in September. It's a home passed down from generation to generation and has only been owned by women in the family. We met the owner, Anne, who still lives there, and she gave part of the tour and just made the place come alive! Soooo much history in that family! Her mother alone, did SO many things that were unheard of by women in her day, like become the first Fire Chief or fly with Amelia Earhart. It was all just fascinating! Wayne, who is a close friend and tour guide, took us on the rest of the tour and it was like he grew up there and knew as much as Anne. So many precious artifacts from all over the world, even from kings and queens, and originals, like curtains over 140 yrs old, upholstered furniture, etc. We hated for the tour to end. I think this is a must see!

Love to do day trips and check out the local attractions. Thanks to a prior person's suggestion calling in, we found out that there was only a 2pm tour available due to a scheduled wedding. We toured the mansion with another couple. Our guide's grandmother was the owner and it has never been owned by a male and has been passed down through the women. A beautiful welll kept Victorian home (a rare gem/find indeed) that was being renovated to be converted into a B&B but that was scrapped after fire code roles changed. Still it is a beautiful home. The 1 hr + tour (definitely see the carriage museum in back) our guide was a wealth of knowledge about history, the house, Victorian architecture etc.Plus it is a bargain at only $12 a person (cash only). They do have events throughout the year to do Afternoon Tea so check out their website.

The Clouds Hill Victorian House is not an average museum. Except for a couple of displays it is arranged as a house. The family still lives in a part of the house. You can make an appointment for a very informative tour. The house itself is very original with 140 year old curtains, ceilings and wallpaper. The Egyptian Room is extraordinary and completely original, although it looks a bit worn. There is a lot of antique furniture, furnishings and porcelain that belongs originally to the house. The friendly host tells the history of the family and the house. On the second floor there are two restored rooms (due to water damage caused by a hurricane). These rooms show how magnificent the house must have been in the early days We had trouble finding the house because the Post Road is a winding road on both sides of the village Warwick. We paid 12 dollars per person for this special tour, but we think it is worth much more.

Nothing fancy but an incredible Victorian collection in it's original period mansion. A work in progress of several generations of one family. If you want to see it as it was lived take the time to visit. It is a work in progress.

This isn't just another mansion tour. This is a Victorian mansion that had something like 50,000 different pieces of priceless treasure jammed packed into and interesting package. Not just Victorian pieces but ming and other period are represented. Our docent, Wayne really knew his stuff and was very interesting to listen to. We spent over yeti hours with him and didn't have one boring moment.

My husband and I had friends from Calgary,Canada and they found this place so amazing with all the history. Please check out the website for the up coming events. The summer is also breathtaking with all the flowers. It seems like a hidden place, but once you visit you will be going back.

There is so much to see at Cloudshill. Every room is packed with history. If you're a pack-rat, this is the place for you. Every little thing in this house has a story behind it. It is so interesting to see how people lived in the 17 and 1800's and to see the household items they used, their hobbies and pasttimes, and how the household was run. I learned some surprising things. There are lots of things there you will never see in a modern household. Some of them are so very practical it makes you wonder why they were abandoned and not used today . And it feels more like a home than a museum. You're not looking at things behind velvet ropes, so you can really get a feel for how the home was lived in. And the opulence! It was amazing to see all the priceless one-of-a-kind antiques. There was so much to take in we had to go back the next day!

We visited the beautiful mansion during the summer time. It is really a fabulous gem for Warwick, Rhode Island. I hope more people find out about this place. It is such an interesting contrast to the mansions located in Newport, Rhode Island. Many of the things you see in the mansion are the originals. Compared to the mansions in Newport. So, there is an interesting story with every object and room that you see. Plus, historically this mansion seems to be pretty important too. I am so glad that mansion was preserved.
