Honestly, I had heard so many people talking about Chan's who are from the area. I like Chinese food. Maybe its because I'm not a "townie" but - do not go here for food. I ordered a rice noodle spicy dish, it came out like rice noodles just dashed with curry powder. It smells in the dining room, seats are taped, it's really dark and dirty. Asia Pacific is much better.

This gem of a blues club is great for my wife and I for 2 reasons...it's 20 minutes from home, and going to a show there is like having the artist(s) playing in your living room. Great national and local acts on the calendar every weekend and many mid-week dates, for reasonably priced shows. The food is just OK...not horrible, not great. Frankly, we don't go there for the menu, we go for the shows...and for that, Chan's rates 5 stars.

This is a restaurant and a Jazz Club. We were very impressed with this small intimate Jazz Club. No matter where you sit you can see and hear the performance. They do offer you a buffet or you can order off the menu. We liked the menu, and found the food and service to be very good. And the prices very reasonable. We went this past Saturday night. They had a piano player who had come back to Woonsocket for a tribute to her dad that first played at Chan`s when they started the Jazz Club. She is Daryl Sherman who plays standards from the Great American Song Book. While telling you some jazz history and funny stories. That night she also played with Greg Abate on saxophone. Who also grew up in Woonsocket. The tickets were only $18 and well worth the price. We plan to return in the near future.

Don't bother going there for the food - it is not worth the price (and the prices are low)! The worst meal I've had in a very long time. Only cold water to wash your hands in a restroom that was in desperate need of updating. I hadn't removed my coat yet and the server was asking what drinks my husband and I wanted. Maybe the music is good, but the food isn't.

Well, when I worked around the corner we would order lunch from here. I usually did take-out due to time constriction. It was pretty good food. I haven't been in over a year. Went to eat and it was okay. The service was okay and the food was not as good as it was before. I like the Asia Grille in Lincoln so much better. Oh well, things change.

I'll keep this one short. Chan's is a stereotypical Chinese restaurant with really really bad food. And a really great small function room where they have live Blues and Jazz. Go there for the music, maybe eat somewhere else beforehand. Hard to get closer to a good act.

This is a great place for an intimate evening of Blues. We've been here many times to catch concerts by famous and soon to be famous Blues musicians. Chan's is actually a Chinese restaurant but we've never eaten here. We go just for these fairly, reasonably priced concerts. We travel from Massachusetts because this is the place to be!

We live in Woonsocket and Chan's is a wonderful place to catch live jazz music. The tickets are reasonably priced, you are right up close to the entertainment, and they do have some big names come and play. The only downside is their food. We always eat elsewhere first. It's passable, but you should eat there as a convenience before the show, not for the great taste.

I don't know how this restuarant has stayed in business so long. The food is terrible. He vegetables were over cooked and everything had a very heavy brown sauce on it. Not the type fo food I would expect from a Chinese restaurant. They do have corned beef adn cabbage on St. Ptrick's Day. Taht tells you something :)

We like the food here. A bit pricey but portion size is good.Food is good, but one thing I dont' like is you can't substitute anything.for someone with some food issues makes it hard.

If you're in the Providence/Woonsocket Rhode Island area and in the mood for some great jazz and blues, Chan's is the place to go! They book all the top bands. I've been going there for a number of years now and I love it. Chicago blues, swing music, rock, they cover it all. The cover is reasonable and the bands always play 2 sets. And if you get hungry, they serve chinese food. The bands play in a big open room with tables set around the stage so for a good seat, reserve seats or get there early. As they say on their website, it's eggrolls and jazz !
