The Rec center has a lot to offer: bowling, pingpong, foosball, etc. It has a gym if you'd love to work out for more climbing. They also have food at a very affordable price! The staffs are very friendly and helpful.

The Lee County Rec Center has a lot to offer: bowling, ping pong, foosball, exercise equipment, and more. Bowling and shoe rental is very affordable, and the area is spacious and well lit. For when you get hungry, there is a pizza and snack bar by the lanes. The staff are very friendly. I could have spent hours here, between bowling, food, and other activities. If you are in the Lee County area and want a place to chill and have some fun, this is the place to go.

Beattyville is the county seat of Lee County and is a coal-town turned tourist attraction with rock-climbing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and is located at the mouth of the Kentucky River. It is also the home of the annual Woolly Worm Festival (which I've heard was actually very good, however, Woolly Worms creep me out). Recently, the community pooled its resources and created a Tourism Development Committee. The committee, headed by Dedra Brandenburg, has been working to promote these events and encourage outside tourism within the area. Dedra is a great asset to the community because she is well informed and a great help.

My colleagues and I had been working our butts off in Beattyville yesterday and decided to check out the Lee County Recreation Center. Man, is this place incredible. Owned by a ministry, the center has a full gym, pool tables, ping pong tables, foosball, and a bowling alley! Not to mention an awesome place to stop and grab a bite to eat! This is a fantastic local place to chill out and take a break from traveling, work, or even to go out to and is a great asset to the community as all of the workers are very kind and helpful. We had a blast here!

My friends and I stopped here in the middle of the afternoon and we had a blast! We ordered food and bowled a game and both were fully up to expectations! (Except that my bowling score was low as usual :( I ordered the cheese sticks, which were absolutely delicious! Very soft, hot and melt in your mouth cheesy. The place is huge! A long room full of pool tables which also contains several arcade style video games, a wide variety on their menu, the bowling alley has several lanes ( I would have to guess but I would say about 8 - 10 lanes). It's a new wood paneled decor which is very nice and a mural decorates an entire wall. For those who are worried about going the cheese from their pizza there is a large, very well equipped gym in the very next room. I was so impressed with this Rec Center! It is a huge asset to their community and makes me wish there was one like it in my hometown!
