One of the best golf courses I have I ever played. Its in really great shape. Lots of sand traps. Design of this course is amazing. The playability was great also. We will definitely play it again!

We just loved this course. Found it strange that it was mostly Zoyza grass, being more of a northern golf course. This course was well maintained and a joy to pay. Usually, every course I play has a hole or two that I think are bad. This course had no bad holes, each one was scenic. The course was challenging but played very fair. I would love to play this course more often. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating.

Played golf over the 4th and this is the best course in the area.Very nice fairways and greens. Pro shop very helpful on course layoff and pin markersChecked out the campgrounds and only found 1 site we would ever consider. Sites are on top of each other. Did not have a good feeling.

Unfortunately, with the lake levels dropped this park does not have much to offer. The pool is closed and the public no longer go to visit.

I have played four of the 12 18-hole courses in the last three weeks. It is clear that these economic times have impacted the historically well kept Kentucky State Parks. At three of the courses the sand traps appear not to have been maintained for quite at least the better part of the spring and early summer golf season. The General Burnside Island State Park is the exception. While the course play somewhat shorter- 6,394 from the first tees and 6,032 from the second tees, the fairways which are watered and thick which helps the ball roll true. Greens are large and well watered for a public course. Pin placements are Kersey levers day. The course yardage markers and sprinkler heads are true, even though there are not yardage markers cards available. The four water stations were well maintained. State (university) employees also receive a $5 discount for each round. A great value.

The repairs on Wolf Creek Dam have taken their toll on Burnside Island. The lake is way down but still one can dock here. The pool has yet to be repaired and probably won't be. The golf course has been improved, but overall the park is still sad in comparison to its heyday.
