If you are traveling to Hodgenville, Kentucky, be sure to stop on Saturday night for a few hours to the Lincoln Jamboree. It is a music hall and features several hours of entertainment on Saturday evenings, for about $8.50/ticket. There is a restaurant, which we ate at before the show. The food is home cooking with things like fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, etc. and it was EXCELLENT. Lots of food for about $6.99 I think. Coke products are served no alcohol allowed. Outdoors for about an hour before the main show starts, is music on the patio, which on our trip, were gospel singers. The music show inside lasted about 3 hours and had a variety of singers, mostly country singers, some Elvis, some Johnny Cash, etc. The house band is great too. It advertises as being around since about 1954. Yes, the place is old and has seen better days BUT that's part of the charm. The singers are different each week, and we enjoyed their singing very much and thought they each were great. It's old yet quaint, and we enjoyed it. It made for a nice way addition to our trip to see Lincoln's homes as a child. Call ahead to reserve your tickets for the music show. There is also a concession stand for snacks and drinks, and lots of memorabilia of country music covering the walls. Yes, we would go back to eat dinner and to listen to music.
