I am not a bourbon drinker, but we were in the area for the weekend and thought we ought to do at least one distillery tour. The new visitors center is very cool! The tour was more informative than I expected and our guide was very knowledgable and well spoken.

When in Kentucky......We enjoyed learning about how Bourbon is made and tasted some of the best Bourbon to date. The visitors centre is worth the visit with its beautiful design.

This was another stop on the Bourbon Trail. What made this distillery stand out was it's scenery. High in the hills, you have some spectacular views ans sights all while sipping some awesome bourbon.Ask your guide about the old train bridge.. he'll tell you about a man who has a bridge to sell.About 1-1.5 hours total.

The tours are reasonably priced and Bubba the tour guide was a lot of fun. The views in the tasting room are amazing. The gift shop staff was also really friendly. I would highly recommend this tour!

Visited Wild Turkey to earn another stamp on my bourbon trail passport. The tour was small and personal with only 4 on the tour. The information provided by the tour guide was informative, the operation seemed to be in a pause. This may have been to the post Thanksgiving holiday period. The tour guide was friendly. After the tour as with all distillery tours we headed to the tasting room to sample two bourbons per visitor. Visitor center is nice with a pictorial of the history of the company.

The grounds of the Wild Turkey distillery are lovely and worth a visit. The tour is extensive and the tasting ends in a new lovely room that overlooks the picturesque Kentucky hills. Visit this distillery, if you have time on the tour!

Was expecting more from the tour...which started off with what appeared to be an amateur video, followed by views of the stills and fermenters...no warehouse tour. The only positives were the tasting and the view from the tasting room of the bridge. Wish we would have saved our money and put it towards the gift shop...where we did spent almost $200 (we purchased one of the last two Diamond Anniversary bottles.) We suggested that if you purchased a $125 bottle, you should get a free glass but the ladies said that has been suggested with no luck. Wish they would have had more photo ops...great spots for turkey statues or even fake turkeys...maybe they need some new marketing blood?! If it wasn't for the bourbon we would have passed on this one.

The tour was short, which I don't mind, but I was glad it wasn't our first distillery tour as the guide really rushed through everything. The tasting room is absolutely beautiful, overlooking the valley which was in full fall foliage. We got to choose which 2 bourbons we wanted to taste, but again, he described them so quickly, then made us feel rather rushed while we sampled them.

Our first distillery tour. Well worth the time. It's a free tour for veterans! I think it's $5 otherwise. Our tour guide was informative and somewhat comical. We started at the visitor center, boarded a bus, toured the distilling areas, and ended in the visitor center. A little bit of walking is required. The tour lasted about an hour. I don't like bourbon/whiskey but at the end of the tour, when they offered samples, I really wanted to try some. I was really hoping that after being educated on how they make it, I would like it. Didn't happen, but that doesn't mean the tour wasn't good. Now my hubby wants to do the entire bourbon tour!

We started our second trip to the bourbon trail here. The tour itself was not amazing for us, because a lot of things are seen behind a window like a museum instead of right there next to the tanks. But our guide was nice and knowledgeable. The view from the tasting room is GORGEOUS!! and we liked some of their higher end bourbons that we hadn't tasted before. Definitely go if you haven't gone before but I wouldn't probably make a second visit there.

This tour is pretty basic, showing you how they make bourbon. I'm glad it was only $5. When doing the KY Bourbon Trail (which my husband and I have now completed), we appreciate distilleries who find something to make their tour unique so that you're not hearing 8 times about how bourbon is made.We were also disappointed you only got 2 very small samples. We heard conflicting information throughout all the distilleries about laws and sample counts and sizes... some places give you 3-4 generous samples. We may have liked and purchased more product had we been able to try more. All in all, we were glad to go while doing the trail and to get to try Wild Turkey (As we never had before), but the tour just isn't anything to write home about.

A good stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Wild Turkey lands in the heart of the Bluegrass with several upgrades in the last few years including production facilities, a new visitor center and more! This is one of the largest producers of Bourbon in the state, and they are good at it, but it's not quite as pretty as some of the others. Ben Russell, grandson of Jimmy Russell was our tour guide and EXCELLENT to say the least. As far as guides go - he is one of the best to have!!!And Wild Turkey lets your try 2 tastes with the tour from their vast selection of Bourbons...always love that!
