This is a great little science center with hands-on activities! I took my children while they were growing up, and took my students (ages 3-12) on field trips there. My kids still enjoy it (ages 14 & 21). Wonderful staff. Call ahead at BRIMMS and ask them to send a brochure. Talking about the exhibits, having some questions or curiosity before you come will enrich your experience. They will bring exhibits to your school, too (they came to mine and it was awesome!). Great for homeschoolers, too. Available for off-site programs and can be reached at 270-843-9779This summer, some students said they saw the entire Musée d'Orsay in Paris in 1 hour. So, I'm thinking those kids didn't care much about art or learning about it. Anyone who says you can go through it in 30 minutes doesn't enjoy real exploratory learning! You can spend 30 minutes on each activity. My kids, my students, and I are completely engaged when we visit.

This will be the 4th year I have taken my grandchildren to Brimms. They are 15, 12, and 11. Two girls and one boy. I am not too interested but my grandchildren will explore it all and I just follow them around and watch. This is not a modern place but the kids don't mind. The staffers are so good and will come over to help and explain. I would say just trust the kids and let them discover and experiment on their own. Each year this place is on their list of places to visit and we will go again next week!

Neat little place if you dont have to drive far and have a few minutes to kill. NOT a good place to go when driving more than an hour. The info on it is misleading. It is not very big at all and you can go through it in about 30 minutes and see everything there. For 30 minutes of average exhibits the price is too high. I would not recommend this unless your kids are between the ages of 8 and 10. Anything over or under than that and it is either too boring or too advanced to understand.
